Xbox has no chance of having the better 2023 for me with Spider-man 2, FF16 and Granblue Fantasy Relink being three of my most anticipated games
Remains to be seen if Sony or Microsoft have the better 2023 for me. Won't know that until a year or longer from now. I'm day one for Spider Man 2 and Final Fantasy XVI. Granblue Fantasy Relink is 50/50 for me. I know they added a PS5 version. The main issue for me is that I was hyped years ago for the game but it's taking too long. Same for Lost Soul Aside which hasn't shown anything in almost 18 months. Hoping LSA gets shown at the rumored PlayStation Showcase in September considering that it's part of their China Hero Project.

Redfall, Forza 9 and Starfield

vs

PSVR2, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, FFXVI, Forspoken

Remains to be seen.

So far the only thing that I'm partially interested in for 2023 on Xbox is Starfield but it's looking a little rough right now

I hope the years spent on Lost Soul Aside and Granblue Fantasy Relink make them incredible games. I can wait if they need more time, there's plenty to play

Playstation:
It just all depends on stock and how many and what games Playstation WWS are producing. Right now we’ve seen like 3 games to release by 2023/2024. Spiderman 2, Wolverine and TLOU Factions 2. So I don’t know what they are releasing or planning. Especially Single player games. We’ve lost some 3rd party exclusives though.

If they release more great games, I see it going the PS4 route, 100million units maybe more depends on stock. If we don’t get much Single player campaigns, new IP’s. And Sony‘s concentrating on online games, then I don’t know if it will be as successful.
But who knows about this market, we have peoples still playing GTA5 and Fortnite lol.

Xbox:
Xbox’s future kinda depends on Starfield this gen. And what other games release that year both for Xbox and the competition.
They are probably not getting ElderScrolls 5 or Fallout 5 this gen, so Starfield will be there game changer commercially.

If Starfield does well and Hellblade, Perfect Dark and Avowed get 9’s then I can see Xbox selling like 65-85 million units. If they dont score well, then I don’t think Xbox will sell more than 65-75million units

Nintendo:
Depends. If they go hyrbid/portabe they will be good but they have some obstacles.
There next machine will require harder to develope games, and they have ported/remaster/remade alot of stuff from previous gen, so they will need to make alot more new games.
They‘ve had less power because of Wii ( Motion controllers ) Wii U ( Tablet ) Switch ( Portable ). I don’t think they can get away with games looking like Pokemon, SMT etc for too much longer. They have great art style for 1st party but the rest can sometimes look lazy.

If they go Home Console and portable separate then it 3DS/Wii U generation for them. Probably a bit better
Whatever the case, I will buy it because I love the 1st party releases and they’ve done great with some 3rd party exclusives. If they carry that on, I will always buy their games

I'm interested in Starfield but more hyped for Redfall. Starfield looked good but not great and they showcased a bad planet. They should have showcased a planet that was vibrant, lush and colorful as I think that would have went over better. I know they said first half 2023 when they announced the delay but at the showcase, it said coming 2023 which makes me believe that it gets a full year delay like Halo Infinite did. I do think Redfall is February/March though.

Yeah, me too. Hoping they get an update soon.

Redfall always looked bad to me, if it was a realistic horror game I'd be excited for it. Starfield has potential, it kinda looks boring in a way but yeah maybe the other planets will be better

Redfall didn't impress me visually but it's my type of game, can be played fully solo with no AI team mates which is a massive positive for me and of course, the main theme is Vampires which games rarely do or feature nowadays. Agree with Starfield. I'm not a Bethesda Game Studios guy (I prefer Arkane, Machine Games and Tango Gameworks) but will check out Starfield on Game Pass and at the very least, im just hoping the story campaign is good as I don't see myself putting hundreds of hours into the game doing all this other stuff.

1000 planets or whatever it is, is insane. I would have preferred 20 or so hand crafted planets and you go to them for story and side quests. But since I always see so many people talk about BGS games being more about exploration than possibly anything else, I can understand why they chose to make the game extremely massive.

They better make a Ghost of Tsushima 2. Or basically the same type of game set in a different region. Preferably ancient rome

They made 1000 instead of 20 because it is requiring way more work to handcraft it. Plus 1000 means you have better sealings to milk it with mtx, dlc and other gaas garbage.

If that's insane I'd invite you to visit No Man's Sky. Nowadays it's just a bonkers game with everything you can think of.

I'm expecting Sony to bring Square Enix into First Party and change the name back to SquareSoft and KH to get even weirder and Nomura do Final Fantasy Versus again cause WHY NOT BABY.

Xbox will do good this gen too, not 360 era good yet still good.

Nintendo will be erm Nintendo.

That's completely impossible given the amount of time left and the scale of resources.
100% chance. Not 99%, 100%.

What do you think MS is going to have in the next 5 years that is going to make any difference? Starfield, Redfall, Avowed, Hellfire, Fable? More Forza, more Gears? Another Halo? Lmao, you guys never learn, it will take years just for them to catch up to what Sony already released (that is if they are ever able to do that).

No clue, but I'm not obtuse enough to fail at realizing they basically own 1/3 of the entire gaming industry now. Odds are they will heavily prevail with tons of great games even if many of their releases don't stick the landing.

When you're getting hit with a battery of missiles it doesn't really matter if some fail to connect, you're still getting hammered.
