Neither Tom Warren nor XboxEra are backtracking, nor is SneakerSO. People like Jez flip flopping hard is no wonder, hell Jez first denied any of this was happening.

Tom Warren has said those who started backtracking didn’t know what was happening to begin with.

Now the silver lining being fought for is timed exclusivity, because they believe that somehow will preserve their fanboy status and will keep the community together, but the new narrative that PlayStation gamers will start buying Xbox games until they realize “Wait a minute, I will just buy an Xbox and GP instead of paying 70$ for every Xbox game” is another clueless, moronic, Hopium/copium sugar filled banana split diet that will once again look utterly dumb in hindsight. Do these content creators understand that games drop in price? That a PlayStation gamer might buy a couple of Xbox games, not all of them? They can’t even get their own userbase to buy their fucking games, which is why they came out with gamepass.

It’s time to start rejecting these bullshit narratives that go as far as making Xbox problems PlayStation problems.

Go ahead and keep injecting that copium into your veins and lock yourself to Xbox’s ecosystem while the rest of us take a clue and do better with our money.

Some people seem to think MS will u-turn off the back of a fanboy backlash.

Personally I think that Warren and SneakerSO are the most reliable of the lot. Warren is a MS shill with contacts there, and he's saying they are considering launching Indiana Jones on PS5. SneakerSO is saying he personally knows people working on a number of PS5 ports, and that even future unannounced games are planned to launch on PS5.

This runs deep. What's been obvious to intelligent people is that Xbox has been blowing through a mountain of money even before their recent acquisitions. This isnt Spencer's decision. It's purely a financial one made above his head.

PlayStation users would benefit from not receiving Xbox games day one if anything, most of their games release in a sorry state and MS will have a much harder time charging full price if it's a delayed release.

I just can't process MS trying to launch another console after the disaster that was the Series, who is going to buy it? Is there anyone satisfied with what the Series console have delivered?

Aside from the awful Series S, their problems this gen were not related to hardware at all.
MS is like the politician that can stay in a dead race because he or she has money and big donors backing them.

I doubt PlayStation players will lose any sleep if it doesn’t come to the platform. I put in almost 50 hours into the game and it was one of the most boring games I played in a while.

Traversal is terrible, gun combat is clunky, endless loading screens, exploration is underwhelming, unrewarding, and lacks variety. Enemy encounters are very repetitive. The story is nothing special and the companion characters are fucking annoying.

It was evident the game needed more time in the oven and shouldn’t have been released when it did. Sony and Nintendo would never have released their first party games in this state. Something this disappointing could’ve only truly have been released by Microsoft.

If you’re a PlayStation gamer, if it ever comes to the PS5, I’d wait for a sale. Do not pay full price for this junk.
If they're gonna keep improving the game they need an audience to justify it.

The thing is PlayStation nor Nintendo will not let them publish games on their platforms with the Xbox or Game Pass branding. If Microsoft is going 3rd party the Xbox brand will essentially be dead rather they continue to make consoles or not.

Not gamepass as it exists now but if it’s something like what Ubisoft and EA do, a new Microsoft IP only version (now featuring COD and Bethesda) they might allow it. Not any version of gamepass with other third party content.

I’m already making the assumption Xbox branding is indeed dead after next week.

Complete and utter breakdown of the brand. Rough times ahead for the hardcore xbox shills.

Feel sorry for actual fans who were lied to by Phil.

Xbox as a publisher is likely to be bigger than ever. They're gonna maintain some 'first party' status between Game Pass, improved Xbox experience on Windows, and Xbox hardware (even in decline) which elevates them above the Ubis and EAs.

It doesn't fit the System Wars version of success (Playstation won), but the end result is Playstation fans will play a lot of Xbox games, and MS will make a lot of money.

I 100% believe that Starfield and nearly every Microsoft first party game will be going to PlayStation and it's just a matter of time until they're all day one on PlayStation.

When Phil Spencer announced the 4 ports, he said he expects that console exclusive to be a rare thing 5-10 years in the future. Meaning, he expects to port all or most Xbox console exclusives in less than 5 years (Nintendo and Sony obviously will continue publishing their games only in their own consoles).

He said that can't promise anything after these 4 but can't say never is never. Also mentioned a window for the ports of "around a year or more".

So yes, make sure Starfield, Halo, Forza and so on will be ported to PS -and in cases where the games fit- Switch.

Activision Blizzard King was the top grossing 3rd party publisher in console. Acquiring them, MS became the top grossing 3rd party publisher in console.

In mobile, acquiring ABK MS jumps in the ranking of top grossing mobile gaming publishers to maybe top 3.

In case of PC there's Riot whose revenue isn't know. But we know LoL has been the top 1 or top grossing PC game for over a decade alternating the top 1 position with Dungeon Fighter Online.

MS's plan may be to sacrifice their console in exchange of trying to become the top 1 publisher in mobile, console and PC. Regarding company rankings for total gaming revenue, they should be now 3rd after Sony and Tencent, but pretty close.

To go full multiplatform would be positive for MS. Specially if they stop including their own AAA games day one on GP to generate more revenue from sales, and to reduce the loses of their division.

I 100% believe that Starfield and nearly every Microsoft first party game will be going to PlayStation and it's just a matter of time until they're all day one on PlayStation.
I'm 100% sure this is their plan since before acquiring Bethesda and ABK. First a ton of ports and timed console exclusives with some games releasing day one. And after some time everything day one.

Problem with that is that MS absolutely sucks at game development. It's been over a decade since they had an excellent game.

This might turn out to be worse than EA/Ubisoft, quality wise, considering their track record.

They're already publishing their games on computers, and there's pretty strong indication they're looking to bring PS games to mobile. I generally agree with what you're saying (PS isn't publishing on Xbox), but there's the opening for MS to make an "Xbox" which is a PC that plays PC games, including by Sony. If MS is smart, they will end Xbox as a specific console release target and instead make Windows into a console gaming platform.

They've got a lot of high profile failures, and major internal dysfunction but it's not true they don't make great games. Psychonauts 2 was great. Forza Horizon is a great franchise. Gears 5 was good. The Ori games are great.

They own Bethesda, Blizzard and Activision. There are teams who make great games in there. Whatever ID makes next, I definitely want to play it.
