Picking winners, so basically telling Sony in the EU "too bad you cant buy to compete with MS."
This is why ive always been an advocate of heavy investment with stock buys rather than a full on acquisition. Stock buy allows sony to sit on the board, see whats in the pipeline, have first dibs to publish, and it avoids regulatory scrutiny.
Whats even more amazing about this is that the EU is now defining the video games industry the exact same fucking way Sony did, the same way Jim told the federal judge how it was and why allowing ms, a platform holder, to now control such a huge part of the AAA and shooter part of the market is a disaster for the industry and their business
.I really hope this merger brings about a fucking crash in the industry, all brought on by greed and obvious corruption.

No but the point is its more enticing to switch if it's on gamepass with crossplay forced. Tlbut this is situation that really only caters to those that are new to the PS console or only played COD with no friends.

Despite the FUD over Sony trying to invest in GAAS in the future, Sony is still also upping their investment into single player games (people constantly misread that graph).

What's crazy is that people (in general) whove been parroting these antiPlaystation talking points, whether they realise it or not, they have subconsciously been programmed by microsoft
There is nothing xbox can do to upsurge Playstation. They can try all they want. xbox is already a disgraced last place meme brand
Just trying to just speak accurate to the facts and to history, I will say this, Sony dominating these PS4 and PS5 gens has been the greatest thing they could have ever done. Especially starting in the PS4 gen which was the real start of digital libraries and online subs etc. Sony dominated the most important gen in gaming history(PS4 gen). So it means EVERYONE built their digital libraries and digital footprints on Playstation in the Playstation ecosystem...AND THAT is something that microsoft can never undo or ever ever get back
And that PS4 domination has grown even more in this current PS5 generation of Playstation domination.

In a way, it's a far bigger blow to microsoft if they buy activision and still fail. Because than there are no excuses to fall back on or lies to comfort yourself with after that.
buying activision is the desperate last resort, its the pinnacle of "trying to spend Sony out of buisness." There is nothing else or nothing more after that.
So at the least, the 1 great thing in all of this is that when microsoft still fails, that spells the final guaranteed end of all things xbox and microsoft in gaming.
They will have no excuses to fall back on after if they have activision and still fail.
So in a way this buy puts an even tighter leash on microsoft - the results of still failing after buying microsoft are beyond devestating now (self inflicted) and that would finally single the end for the garbage last place xbox brand that real gamers have always wanted

It would be the biggest joke if they would try to hinder Sony. Yes of course Microsoft buys four Monster sized publishers Bethesda + ABK (yes 3 pubs in one: Activision, Blizzard & King) but Sony should get scrutinised?

- keep filing appeals
- and most of all, pray pray and pray for the deal to be blocked
There's nothing else you can do when the evil empire (microsoft was dubbed that in court) has bought the world and is attemtping the most anticompetive buyout in human history while corrupt payed off regulators put on a dog and pony show to appear like they are actually trying while behind scenes recieve support and funds from microsoft (called lobbying - system is rigged)
