Well, Until Dawn is a remake of a nearly 10-year old game, and I'm not sure if you'd consider that AAA or higher-tiered AA. In the case of a game like that, I don't think Day 1 on PC is a bad strategy, but again, that has to balance with the whole. Meaning, it should be leading to some new equivalent exclusive to the console within a year or two.

It's Day 1 for current-gen new releases, that aren't small or modest remakes of 10-year-old games, where the negative rot in terms of the console's momentum begin to set in. And that shouldn't require any "tests"; Xbox has proven the results of that test, and they lead to steep brand decline in the console space (which despite speculative analysts, hasn't peaked yet; platforms like PlayStation just need to realize they have more competition beyond Xbox).

So this guy is the oracle of gaming or something now?

They've been dead-on with their stuff since the middle of last month. Maybe the most accurate leaker I've seen in years. Well, between them and the one who posted that Discord stuff. Could be a small group of people divvying up leaks or whatever.

Was he definitely the first to leak the GoT PC port date? If so, very credible. Starfield on PS5 confirmed for this year.

In regards to this tweet, shouldn't the test have been God of War 2018, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us part 1 and Spider Man? All these games are bigger than Until Dawn. Doesn't matter that those titles weren't day n date the brand recognition alone for those games should be enough for "testing" to see how the PC crowds are drawn in.

Cool, I will help them with the tests by avoiding buying PS Studio games day 1 from now on.
I don't understand how they say day one and include until dawn, it came out years ago. Yeah the remaster is coming day one, but when I look at day and date I'm looking at brand new games.

after the sales of SoT on ps5 it is certain that more xbox games will come to ps5
this reminds me of sony how it started with horzion zero down on pc and then more playstation games came on pc

Yeah it is basically a repeat of that. And now, you can count the number of post-2020 remaining 1P games exclusive to PS consoles on one hand (if you also take the Nvidia leak into account; that had GT7, GOW Ragnarok and Demon's Souls remake as well).

That's probably great news if you're a PC owner (particularly Steam user), but dire news if you're a console owner wanting to justify your investment into a console over a PC long-term.

Hermen Hulst in 2020: "And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance."

Now almost every game is on PC. Dude took a page right out of Phil Spencer's playbook, he really is the Sony version of Phil. But at least I don't see PS fans praising him

Almost isn't every game, though. But Spencer said not every game, yet every game is on PC and beyond
