Discussion Xbox Series S’ Lower Specs Will Make it Hard for Graphically Intensive Games to Hold up – Caverns of Mars: Recharged Dev

Glad I traded mine in against the PSVR2, got more for it than I paid because of 50% extra trade-in value promotion. At least the XSS was good for something

Discussion The Last of Us PC port heavily criticised for poor performance

I’ve been getting mixed reports on whether this was ported to PC by ND in-house or by Iron Galaxy. I’m aware Druckmann made it sound like it was done in-house, but there are reports of the contrary. Is there any definitive word on who did the port?

Discussion From Walkman to PSVR 2 – Sony’s history of immersion

Thanks for the link! It's a decent read, but could have done with a little proof-reading. It was interesting to see that Sony initially invested more into AR before getting into VR through Shu's efforts in leading that project. Isn't Shu now head of Indies for PlayStation? PSVR2 has an amazing...

News GI.Biz: PS5 sales surge over 300% in the UK during February, Xbox down 5%, Switch down 29%

I reckon for March Sony might possibly see a 400% increase and a 500% increase in May or June. It makes sense that as the months passed by in 2022, there would be dwindling PS5s supplies until the market was dry. There were many months where PS5s were nowhere to be found. I wouldn't be surprised...

News GI.Biz: PS5 sales surge over 300% in the UK during February, Xbox down 5%, Switch down 29%

As a hardware platform, most certainly. I'd love them to drop the hardware and focus on being a 3rd party publisher. It would honestly be awesome to have their games on PS5. If not via Game Pass, I'd still possibly buy their games from the Store if they made them available, like with Steam. The...

News Xbox Store on Console Has Only 4 Million MAU in Europe

and looking at my local used markets, there is a veritable FLOOD of Series consoles. I get the feeling that Series consoles are an unmitigated disaster. Pretty unbelievable and unprecedented so quickly after a console launch. I don't remember anything like this happening before.

Xbox Today marks the 400th day since Xbox last shared Game Pass subscribers count

The biggest reason why game subs will never work like movies/TV and music is because of the existence of save files and tracking the progress/time spent with a game is infinitely more valuable than a simple timestamp. I paid for 3+ years of GPU (with huge regret), but I've never spent more...

Fuck this dystopian monopsonistic potential future timeline. Fuck Gamepass. Fuck MS. I have GPU until 2024, but I feel like I wanna boycott it anyway right now.

    Discussion PSVR2 teardown video

One thing I noticed at 12:02 in the video is that the haptic feedback in the headset seems to be delivered by a standard vibration motor as opposed to a voice-coil actuator like in the controllers and DualSense. Should be sufficient for head feedback, but interesting to note nonetheless
