    One doesn't just use 1440P because they don't have a 4K display "yet". 1440P isn't a stop-gap resolution as some might think. It's the ideal resolution for desktop gaming at smalled screen sizes. To answer your question though, you don't want or need 1440P if you have a 4K display.
