Must be a long year for you with no games to play. The takes in this thread are entertaining, to say the least. It's gonna be a very long generation for some of you
Now wonder you spend so much time posting on two forums.....

My backlog is long enough for literally five years of gaming.Must be a long year for you with no games to play.

Everybody's backlog is long enough. But it's a backlog for a reason; the games are not exciting enough for us to drop everything and play them. That's why they are in the backlog in the first place. My backlog is long enough for literally five years of gaming.
That's the thing, my backlog is getting bigger all the time. That's why his "hurr durr no games" quip makes no senseEverybody's backlog is long enough. Will God of War Ragnarok go in my backlog? Nope. Will Starfield go in the backlog for you when it releases? I don't think so.
The quality of games, and the excitement for said games, determine if it goes to backlogs or not.

Nope one gaming forum is just fine for me. I'm not some middle-aged man with no social life
Outside of titles Sony pays to keep of Xbox this doesn't seem very likely. The biggest game in the world is CoD and I'm thinking all of Sony's money won't be able to keep that title off Xbox going forward. These sales numbers will have no appreciable affect on the Xbox platform whatsoever. Sony needs to sell consoles far more than MS does so it is good they are doing well. Both platforms will be fine.Yes.
Fewer Xbox consoles sold = fewer third-party software sales + less in-app purchases and MTX money + fewer exclusive games + fewer first-party sales + less marketshare and brand value + fewer subscribers + fewer MAUs = less revenue = fewer and/or lower-quality first-party games.
So on and so forth.
I believe Xbox could be appealing to more people if Microsoft re-invented the brand, how? I am not sure. But, whatever they are doing today doesn't appeal to me, and what Sony and Nintendo does seems to appeal to more people. But, if Microsoft did manage to find a way to appeal to Nintendo/Sony players, then it would probably alienate Xbox users.
To me, it's your classic catch 22.
Microsoft knows this, and they are in a unique situation. we'd know for certain If they'd release the specifics of:
-Number of Xbox consoles sold through to customers
-Gamepass subscribers by platform
-Gamepass churn numbers, how many are on the 1$ plan, how many convert, etc
My sneaking suspicion is that the majority are Xbox one and Xbox Series consoles. And, with a $299 console, Microsoft should of been able to leapfrog Sony if they truly had the better offering and if it was appealing to console gamers. While Microsoft is affected by the same supply constraints as everyone else, they are not affected by the demand. Partly, thanks to their split hardware SKU.
The XSS SOC is half the size of it's big brother and PS5. Twice as many chips per wafer, being smaller/less complex should result in higher yields as well.
I could go out and buy a minimum of 5 XSS and 3 XSX right now (Literally just called my local Walmart Super Center at 11:13am lol).
Demand is softening for team green, hard.
god effing damnLol, suddenly Piers and Ampere Analysis became unreliable and biased? Haven't you been treating Ampere's numbers as gospel on this forum for a while now?
Receipts:
Man this thread is hilarious. The Xbox numbers were pulled from the MS source and the fanboys tried to argue them. Can’t make that stuff up!
