Seems you didn't see what I added in the edit.

Bloomberg already said that 2 months ago, and shortly after Sony debunked the Bloomberg fake news (again) claiming that they didn't have reduced their production forecasts of PSVR2:
https://www.roadtovr.com/report-sony-psvr-2-preorder-sales/

So yes, probably instead of "RUMOR" it's "late to the party copy pasted FAKE NEWS".

The fake production forecast reduction from Bloomberg were by a supposed production forecast supposedly leaked by Bloomberg. Meaning, they are probably fake too and that the real Sony forecasts is an unrelated one. Sony never published their sales or production forecasts for PSVR2.

I still find it absurd that Sony puts so many games on Steam yet can't get Valve to port HL Alyx to PSVR2. Sony gets humiliated because of their PC support strategy in every way possible and looks completely out of their depth.

No it isn't fake news... and now we have another source.. maybe do some reasearch to who the source of this information is first..

Sony HAVE DEFINITELY reduced their production forecasts for 2023.

But please stay in denial that this shit is flopping.

Sony seems completely lost.
I still find it absurd that Microsoft puts so many games on Switch yet can't get Nintendo to port Mario Odyssey to Xbox. Microsoft gets humiliated because of their Switch support strategy in every way possible.

Microsoft seems completely lost.

Maybe you'll read it in capital letters: SONY OFFICIALLY DEBUNKED THIS, IT'S IN THE ARTICLE I PROVIDED

This is what happened:
  1. Bloomberg says Sony has a supposed production forecast for PSVR2 for this year in a supposed leak
  2. Some time later Bloomber says Sony has cut the PSVR2 production in another supposed leak
  3. Shortly after Sony says it's fake news that that they never reduced their forecast (which btw they never announced)
  4. Another website repeats a few weeks later that Sony has cut the PSVR2 production in another supposed leak. So pretty likely it's a copy paste of the previous (fake) news

"Medium.com."

Who?
Ming-Chi Kuo is a reputable analyst who mainly covers Apple products.

"Ming-Chi Kuo is an analyst at TF International Securities, a financial services group in the Asia-Pacific region. He gathers intelligence from his contacts in Apple's Asian supply chain, translating the information he gleans into research notes for clients. His research notes often provide a solid look at Apple's future plans and while he is not always correct, his predictions on future Apple products are accurate enough to make him one of the most reliable sources for Apple rumors."

He discusses PSVR2 in relation to Apple's upcoming AR/VR headset.

Some critical updates on the sales/shipments of AR/VR headset devices:
  1. Sony has cut its 2023 production plan for the PS VR2 by about 20%.
  2. The product lifecycle shipment for Meta’s Quest Pro is only around 300,000 units.
  3. Pico (China’s largest AR/VR headset brand) shipments in 2022 were more than 40% lower than expected.
Conclusion:
  1. There is currently insufficient evidence to suggest that AR/VR headsets can become the next star product in consumer electronics in the foreseeable future.
  2. Apple’s announcement event is likely the last hope for convincing investors that the AR/MR headset device could have a chance to be the next star product in consumer electronics.
  3. The current market consensus may overestimate AR/VR headset devices’ contribution to key component suppliers over the next few years, particularly in the optical-related.

This has nothing to do with Xbox and Xbox should not be used as a reference for anything, unless you think Sonyshould start supporting Nintendo consoles.

Sony looks like Valve's bitch.

It's exactly the same: to expect that a platform holder would port their main exclusive to a competitor just because that competitor released a few ports on their platform.

It would be like to ask Sony to port GoW to Xbox because MS releases games on PS.

Valve has their platform and their exclusives. They made Alyx to give people a reason to buy their VR device, and it's the main reason to buy it. It would be really rare to see Valve porting it to their competition.

No they didn't bebunk this.... Jesus, use your brain. The source for this, is a well respected industry analyst with inside sources within the industry. All of these analysts reporting reduced shipments aren't doing so for the hell of it.....

And the funny thing about you claiming sony refuted the forcasts.. is they actually didn't directly refute anything that was said. They worded it in such a way that it doesn't contest with what is being claimed.

PSVR2 is failing to meet expectations... that much is obvious.

Horizon, God of War, TLoU, Uncharted, Spider-man, Miles Morales, Death Stranding, Returnal, Sackboy.

A few ports... lmao.

Valve used to port their games to PlayStation in the past and haven't done so in years now, a completely one sided relationship. Major L for Sony so far.

Yes, comparing to their 1st party catalog and output these are only a few ports of old games.

All that Valve ported to PS is Half Life, The Orange Box, Portal 2 and CSGO, with the last over a decade ago. And none of them was an exclusive for a Valve hardware.

Half Life Alyx is not exclusive for a Valve hardware.

As I remember you were port begging to have it in PSVR2 because Valve only made it for their own VR headset and only sell it on their own store.
