400 million is hard to believe. That's an insane amount of money for something that looks like AA. It seems like each time this game is mentioned, the budget grows.
3,6B for Bungie + 400 million from Concord = 4B dollars, now imagine Twisted Metal, The Last Of Us Factions and more GAAs games that were cancelled

Edit:

On the latest sacred symbols episode, Colin Moriarity revealed that he interviewed people connected to firewalk and the situation with Concord seems much worse than it is thought.

I guess now we know why the nickle and diming is happening, I would take this info with a grain of salt but Colin says his source is solid and with the way Sony reacted there seems to be some truth to the matter.

On a positive note Concord seems to have been Herman Hulst's baby so his days are most likely numbered

400 million sounds like bull💩 I want to see some official documentation or that's cap

Again, the 400 million number seems made up. That'd be their most expensive game to date, bigger than Spiderman or GoW. It makes no sense.

Doesn't really matter. Sinking even 200 million is a massive issue. If it's true that the game was seen as the "future of PS" then PS is creatively bankrupt.

Someone saw that game and decided to release it. And then we wonder why they're not showing anything. PS management needs cleaning up. Hope Hermen gets the boot soon. Let's get Ted Price in there. He runs the best studio PS has now.

Obviously 400 million is bullshit.

Even the 200 million is nonsense.

Just a made up number to show how much money was lost.

We will nowhere know unless a leak happens.!

so you're telling you know better than a person working for the studio? cause that's exactly who Colin spoke with, i've told you guys, the investment in Concord showed Sony had a lot of confidence on this project, Limited Edition Controller, cinematics made EVERY WEEK, even a special episode on an Amazon TV Show, how much do you think that costs?

Bro they released a controller, had animated shows on amazon lined up. They even acquired the studio before game was launched. This lines up with him stating that Sony thought about Concord as their own star wars, This explains the nickle and diming of ps plus and the stands as well, They even cancelled factions 2

Well it’s bullshit then.

What the hell was the 400 million spent on.

These guys just keep getting numbers out of their asses.

First 200 then 250 now 400.

Next it will 500 million.
For gaas game developer has to provide an extensive range of servers and network connectivity that require constant maintenance and that can cost alot

Unlike single player game that done and dusted after player finished the game with maybe a few minor patches here and there that doesnt cost as much

Here's the thing. With all that's happening, Sony clearly lost their edge. Remember when PS acquired a studio, you knew they'd make bangers? Because Sony knew how to pick winners?

They lost that edge.

This whole GaaS push will probably set them back years. It's just so incredibly baffling how they went from what they did to this completely new strategy that sees studios not announcing anything in over 4 years.

If we don't get a major showcase by the end of the year, showing what all of their studios are working on, they have major issues.

The game was online for 2 weeks.
