Yikes. Yeah apparently a lot of it is CPU-bound, so it doesn't matter how powerful your GPU is. Maybe a stable/huge overclock on a golden 14900KS with DDR5-8000 RAM, also with super tweaked timings could make it a tad better, but it'd still chug I'm guessing.
OH nahhh I didn't like the combat in DD 1 it felt off to me. So if it's similar damn I'm not going to like and Action RPGs are my favorite genre as well.I've been saying that Dragons Dogma has the best action gameplay in a RPG for well over 10 years. It's my personal favorite and I don't think that's a hot take. the top two are DD and Nioh 2 IMO. And i've played pretty much every major RPG in the last decade btw. If you dont get it, then you simply aren't built to understand DDs greatness
How long did you try it? DD1 went from mid to an all-timer to me in my first playthrough. It's definitely not for everyone.

Played a few hours and it didn't grab me. Red dead (using as an example be cause it's highly acclaimed) was another game i disliked so i dropped and BOTW to me was mediocre but I finished it. Meanwhile I've platted Bloodborne, most Souls games and put hundreds of hours in each.
First few hours isn't indicative of the overall gameplay, it evolves massively. I don't blame people for dropping it early bc of the jank. Sorry to say but you missed out brodie

lmao I get what you mean. DD1 is a incredibly flawed game, but to me it's still a landmark title. there's a reason it's referred to as a cult classic. I see a lot of misinformation getting spread about this title but I guess that's what comes with mainstream attention. i am AC fan, but i can agree and accept that it is flawed game and it has negatives and can or can not recommend some games in franchise.
I can only speak from playing it on PC , but the performance IMHO is absolutely unacceptable even on my high end system. Also Capcom just released the laundry list of optimizations and fixes they still need to do in the coming months and year. So essentially you're doing glorified beta testing right now - whether you're cool with that is up to you.
As always with AAA games as of late, the beta testers pay full price, the people who wait for the price drop get the proper game
solid game but its not game of the year. Lacking in a few areas. game is short for a open world rpg, exploration is pretty bad, only thing you find really is chests with gold in it, no lore, no unique weapons, no unique encounters with npcs etc. Enemy variety is completely lacking and i think DD1 had more variety. Also half of the map is just empty sand. Plenty of big, AAA releases don't stick the landing at launch. It's far rarer to see a AAA game's community genuinely divided over whether or not a game is groundbreaking or an utter disaster. But weirdly, that's what's happening with Dragon's Dogma 2.www.ign.com
This posts is insightful asf for me. I hate games where exploration is bad, has no unique spells/weapons and have chests but just give you money. Thts bad game design and is why Dark Souls is so popular, it does the complete opposite. Everytime you find something in a Souls game you get hype not knowing how unique or gd it's going to be!
