This too as Xbox brass made fun of the controller and within a month of release sent out a survey to Insiders first asking if they would like an Xbox controller with better haptics and triggers and went to work right away on an improved Series 3 because of course they want to charge $200 for it

Its funny because some of the things DF said about the PS5, including some things on this list, were almost direct quotes from things Phil and Mike said about the PS5 right after its reveal.

I heard Mike especially say many times how held back the PS5 was and they blew their budget on an SSD that was going to be useless

Phil and Mike both thought the Series X was going to roll the PS5 in head to head comparisons and I personally heard both of them saying this

I could write a book on this shit with all the notes I kept over the years

We are almost 2 years in this new gen and the Series consoles have shown nothing worthwhile over the PS5 so far. Xbox fans expected something completely different from the start (XSX would destroy PS5 from launch).

PS5: "lower" specced, but overall more balanced console that performs the same or even better then the XSX.

Man, that's pretty shocking! For them to then release Achilles' heel, the Xbox Series S, they literally destroyed every potential advantage XSX could've enjoyed in terms of exclusives, and hurt next gen gaming for multiplats for all for the next 7-8 years.

Mike was against the Series S from the start because of these very reasons and funny enough could be the first pro model upgraded console we see, imagine the naming fiasco unless they phase out the current S and keep the name

Phil just wanted to be able to say the cheapest next gen console

Side note I got my hands on one a few weeks ago when my nephew bought one and stopped at my house to update and download games and even on a 4k 65" TV the thing actually looked ok from distance.

Oh yeah the whole github "leak." Kind of sus that github is owned by microsoft and in the leak had the correct xbox specs and early ps5 specs. With all of the controlled leaks microsofts been doing i cant help but wonder if they leaked the early ps5 specs because they were so sure it was 8 or 9 teraflops?

I was one of the few on GAF that stood by saying the Series X would have more teraflops as Mike assured me he knew the power of the PS5 though he wouldn't put the exact number on it but kept telling me they were within 10-15% of each other

Mike Ybarra, the guy Microsoft sent over to acivision to sabotage form within to crash the stock price so they could buy them for a cheaper price. Beween the blizzard stock sabatoge, the github "leak," the nonstop relentless astroturf gamepass twitter and forum army, games media bias, and studio buyouts, I dont think many of us comprehend the levels of conspiracy, sabotage, and strong arming microsoft is attempting to try and stay relevant. I am kind of with you on the insider work at Acti because for years Mike tried to get Xbox to back the money truck up and pay whatever it took to get COD an Xbox exclusive. Then he started pushing to get COD as a Gamepass game and it seems none of that worked then all of a sudden he works there and MS buys them?

I'd imagine we will just get the new series s and the new series x, and leave the naming as is.
