The PSN link controversy is actually helping the CCU. Many people are review-bombing and refunding 😅

Horizon Forbidden West already beat by almost 20k what a flop 😬

Ghost of Tsushima had much higher placing in follower count and wishlist than HFW before launch, people were just more interested for GoT on PC than HFW. It also probably didn't help that HFW launched right next to DD2.

PSN link is certainly not helping with CCU, negativity on Steam doesn't generate sales.
No game starting with an initial mixed rating is going to entice people to buy the game.

It just keeps going down...

That's to be expected for a game that doesn't skew EU centric.
Asia people have been going to bed for a while and EU peak is for games is generally around 4-4:15 PM EST in about 2 hours. What would be atypical behaviour for a game launch would be if it continues going down going towards EU peak.

I think it's very stupid to take any conclussions from the CCUs of a single player game specially just a few hours after the release. It would make more sense to wait at least a day, to see what the peak of the first day was.

Btw, GoT is the top 1 best seller in Steam right now and Sony has 3 games in the top 15 even if counting Steamdeck and F2P titles.

Icon-Era: "Wow 57k peak on a Thursday, horrible launch"
Also Icon-Era: Wow incredible launch at 67k in over 2 weeks in Japan!

HFW also didn't peak until the weekend, it was also a Thursday Launch. On Friday/Saturday we'll probably see GoT peak at something like 70k which would put it solidly right behind GoW. Doesn't Help Digital Foundry wasn't given a Key for w/e reason so people are going based purely on WoM on the quality of the port

This goes against the narrative that you need to be on more platforms to "grow" the franchise. Horizon 1 was on PC for years and the sequel didn't perform better at all.

It was way too early to go on PC. The game still had some juice left on PS5 (still the best looking game) and there was nothing pushing it to come out now (like a TV show). It was sent to die.

GOT had the PSN link and AC Shadows controversy so everybody knows the game is coming out.

are you purposely trying to be a clown?

you just compared whole Steam launch to just one country number 🤡

people have jobs, y'know

let's check back this weekend

either way, not bad for a game that is 4 years old. I'm about to launch it myself.

That's one country though.

In the end it's all relative.

I don't know what the expectations for sales for any of these products?

Stellar Blade is an action rpg from a South Korean developer that just launched their first console game.
I don't think they're expecting multiple million of copies sold in a short amount of time.

This goes against the narrative that you need to be on more platforms to "grow" the franchise. Horizon 1 was on PC for years and the sequel didn't perform better at all.

That's normal in a lot of cases.
Plenty of folks will buy the first game in a franchise and never buy the second if they didn't have that much fun.

There's a narrative? This is twitter folks again, right? They be tweaking with the hottest takes as usual.

SIE ports have never been about growing that much, they've always positioned it as additional revenue generation opportunities which is corpo talk for "Yeah we would like to make more money".

The game came out in 2020 and the PS5/Expansion version was 2021.
It's been 3 or 4 years depending on when you want to count.

And you're trying to Peak Player Numbers for a SP Game like it's the indicator for sales.
Icon-Era: "Wow 57k peak on a Thursday, horrible launch"
The game was released 5 hours ago, we haven't even seen the peak of the first 24h.

This goes against the narrative that you need to be on more platforms to "grow" the franchise.
GoT will sell millions of copies in PC just like Horizon, Spider-Man, TLOU or GoW. But across several years, specially released as a full priced port of a 4 years old game. Only a retarded would expect to see the game to sell millions in 5 hours.

It was way too early to go on PC. The game still had some juice left on PS5
The game was released 4 years ago and has been included in PS+ for years and discounted many times. Pretty much everyone who wanted to play it there already did it.

i am not trying anything and few members doesn't represent IconEra.

and yes, people can speculate sales from peak numbers. but it would be more accurate on friday and saturday.
57k looks pretty good if we would take all the controversy into account.
