Jim Ryan Appreciation thread. 
I swear dudes admiring Jimbo is no different than Bots worshipping Phil Spencer.
You really want to see PlayStation fail. Jim Ryan is an incompetent slowpoke. What has he accomplished besides damaging the reputation of the PlayStation brand?
Wouldn’t he have competent subordinates like Urata, Shuhei and Svensson, Playstation 5 Gen would then be probably more worse than PS3 era. Jimbo has done nothing, he is the worst PLAYSTATION CEO ever.

Sony already dropped multiple GaaS like MLB and GT7
Of course it's his credit, his and his team. He is achieving many things nobody else achieved before, it isn't because of magic of why his ancestors did 400 years ago or some magic fairies.
He made acquisitions. He took decisions of grow he headcount of all their teams. And to acquire more teams plus support and porting teams to support them. And to spend more than they ever did in 2nd and 3rd party deals. And to merge and revamp PS Plus and PS Now. And to grow in areas where they didn't have entered before even including movies and tv shows. And to do with their Japanese 2nd party publishing team the same they did before with the EU and USA 2nd party publishing teams. And unified things line 2nd party publishing into a single global team working and helping together instead of having a team in each region fighting each other. Same goes with marketing, or localization. And well, he did many other things.
Doesn't make sense to say that a CEO shouldn't be credited for 4 years of great success -with pause in some areas due to chips shortages/covid related delays- in most areas to the point that broke many records in gaming history for any platform holder. He has to be credited, plus his team. Even if yes, a portion of that is previous heritage as happened with any previous CEO both from Sony and from any other company.

Jimbo is the most successful CEO in gaming history for any platform holder and broke so many records in many areas. Beyond record numbers of sales, revenue, engagment etc, the playStation brand is also in all time highs and above Xbox and Nintendo brands btw, Sony regularly show related graphs about it.Jim Ryan Appreciation thread.

These are all facts measured with objective numbers. Not an opinion. So it's normal that people could admire him.
I understand that you guys may not liked some decisions taken by him or the previous ones at Sony. But a different thing is when there are people like you who reject reality and say nonsensical things like he hes incompetent or that he damaged the brand when it's blatantly obvious that it's a 100% wrong take, and keep repeating it again and again even after receiving the factual data that proves that it's a 100% wrong take.
I wonder if the anti Sony blind flaearther movement in this forums is because you secretly are Xbox ambassador thing or something like that. Because it's hard to understand.
Jim Ryan is the one who hired Urata and Svensson, and Jimbo is the one who did put Shuhei in the current position. Without Jimbo they wouldn't be there.

They act like Jim Ryan is a new hire, they don't seem to realise his been with Sony SIE since 1994, he was there before the PlayStation was even released.
In his first year at the job, Ryan helped establish Sony's presence in Europe by finding offices and hiring staff

Since joining in 1994, Ryan has held several senior positions at Sony Interactive Entertainment in both its American and European branches. On August 16, 2011, Ryan was named president and CEO of SIEE.
You trolls claim he is just riding the coatails of the ps4 when we has been in charge since before the ps4 even existed.
Jim has been at Playstation since the beginning and has worked on the European side since then. That's without question the most dominant region for Sony

How is it not his credit? His been in charge of Sony Europe since 2011, his been with Sony as a whole since 1994. 29 years at Sony, his done a great job.
He's a very successful businessman who proved himself as the head of PlayStation's European division. Even if he's not a gamer, he knows what he's doing and seems to have delegated other higher positions to the right people.
Uhh...no, when you copy the strategy of the awful 3rd place team, you can't call yourself a good businessman. Just cause he secured Fifa partnerships in Europe doesn't mean he knows anything about gaming as a business, which is super easy when you're only other real competitor for those deals is Xbox. He has no idea what he's doing, which is why we're getting nothing but live service junk, a remote play/cloud gaming handheld no one asked for, bad subscription service, pc and mobile focused studio acquisitions, and no new AAA single player game announcements (you know, the thing that made you grossly successful to begin with?) in 2 years!
Keep ignoring reality and thinking he's a good CEO just because PS5 is selling well (purely off of the success of last generation and the hype built around FOMO). You guys are literally championing the exact same things that you criticize Xbox for.
PlayStation is slowly becoming Xbox 2.0, and PlayStation fans are slowly becoming as delusional as Xbox fans....praising garbage CEOs

Flop pc ports yes, the garbage excuse of an Uncharted movie was also a flop, but Twisted Metal and TLOU were far from flops. Both are amazing shows that greatly exceeded expectations.
While uncharted movie wasn't anything amazing, it was far from a flop.
It did over $400 million in the box office on a $100 million budget, they also didn't seem to have spent much on marketing. Obviously the tom holland factor played a big role in getting people to watch it, but still decent.
Sony pictures chairmen called it a new franchise for them aswell, so probably wanting a sequel.
A proper Uncharted movie starring Tom Cruise would’ve made over a billion dollars easily.

Yeah he did something devalue the meaning of exclusives by porting their games to an ungrateful audience, who is not interested in the slightest to buying them. Without the successful PS4 generation and competent employees like Urata Keiichiro, Shuhei Yoshida and Christian Svensson, PlayStation 5 gen would be as miserable as Xbox is. Jim Ryan fans are worse as Phil Spencer worshippers.
