I said the same thing earlier there is no score on the review, not even B+ or A. Meta chose a random number.

It's more Metacritic that needs to be contacted. No idea where they took that 83.
I been saying this. Read the review and there is not a score and the language in the review sounds more like a 9.
Meta is tripping.

He is right! They don’t give it a score in the article. It must be a mistake
Actually the reviewer submit the score he wants to Metacritic.
That is how you submit a review.

Even if you don't have a score in your article you can give one when submitting to Metacritic.

Meta doesn't choose a random number... that is false.

The reviewer submit a score when he submit the article to meta.

I’ve already emailed them

This is the official email address: [email protected]

please all guys lets all try to contact Metacritic.
You need to email the reviewer to change that... not Metacritic.
Metacritic has no power to change the score the reviewer submitted.

How does a 83 bump it down 1 point? That's so weird.
That happens when it is not exactly 91 but rounded to 91.
For exemple the average was 90.56 or something like... it was rounded to 91.
When it got a 8 it dropped to 90.42 that rounds to 90.

You can see that in the full ranking... the more the game get closer to a 90 game it is closer to drop to 90.

credit to Mr. Moose on GAF for finding that
That is old and not true today anymore.
When reviewers don't submit a score they put it as non scored.
That happened when Eurogamer removed scores... so Metacritic listed these without scores as non scored.

I don't remember when Metacritic changed that.... but they started to list non scored reviews as non scored.
If you roll down the score you will find the non scored ones.

So they don't provide a score if a reviewers doesn't submit one... they will list it as non scored.

the support article was updated just 5 months ago 🤷🏼‍♂️

also Metacritic has really weird score translations for when IndieWire did score games, for example Metroid Dread got a B which somehow translates to a 75? Returnal’s A is a 100, Demon’s Souls Remake’s A- is a 91, and Persona 5 Striker’s got a B+ which is a 83

none of those scores make sense, I don’t know of any grading system where a B would be a 75/100… (especially one that clearly uses +/- qualifiers, also if B+ exists then how is an A (not A+) a 100?)

edit: also if it’s submitted by the reviewer, why do ALL of IndieWire’s letter grades end up with the same score? every single B+ is listed as an 83, on that note Spider-Man: Miles Morales got a B+ and based on the 83 that they’ve listed Spider-Man 2 is it can be extrapolated that if IndieWire did score it it’d have gotten a B+ (at least Metacritic seems to believe so)
