seeing microsoft speak so lowly of themselves is almost depressing

I know they are only doing it because they want the deal to pass through but ultimately what they are saying and agreeing with is true. They have been very incompetent in building a competitive platform for over 20 years.

It almost makes it hard for me to understand how they even have a passionate fanbase at this point.

Them speaking lowly of themself did not pass CMA sniff test. If you read the report the CMA called them out on that bullshit too. The CMA surprisingly have been very thorough, after reading the report there is no way MS can bullshit them in phase 2. And the fanbase are children, at least the most vocal ones.

I see the deal going through if Microsoft agrees to keep CoD out of it, for example, by forcing ABK to spun a new company just for CoD and keep it independent.

I agree, i dont see it going the way MS want it and to be honest if COD cant be made exclusive to XB i see MS bailing on the buyout. Exclusive is obviously what they want after reading the report. Between the lies and the woe is me argument there is no way MS is not in this to take the games off PS. Gald CMA is not falling for it, and this was just from phase 1 where i believe google was not involved in?

There's a far better chance of Microsoft giving Sony COD exclusively then there is of them bailing on acquiring ABK. Microsoft will sacrifice COD if it came down to it.

Yeah, they'd definitely give Sony the CoD exclusive when this whole charade is pretty much because of cod. Seems legit.

On another note, gotta love MS going straight to warring instead of taking just a second to reflect that their own behavior is what's causing concerns. Things like talking about choice while removing games from millions of people or saying one thing and doing another after a deal closes eg. Zenimax acquisition. I doubt this tantrum will have any effect on the CMA so I guess it's a show to sway public opinion against Sony and the CMA.

Hahaha. No, im real. I just look at the ABK deal as if I was a corporate person working at Microsoft or Nadella/Spencer. Microsoft has wanted to break into mobile gaming for years and have sucked to put it simply. King with Candy Crush and whatever else they may have is what will break them into that market and make them pretty relevant and borderline dominant at least in regards to revenue and profit. King is far more valuable to Microsoft as a company and their direction which should be pretty obvious by now compared to Call of Duty especially when there's plenty of other shooters that are bigger and worth more than COD. Majority want to believe that it's COD because that's what Sony is telling them and for them, then yeah absolutely COD is big for them but for Microsoft, it's an added bonus. A big bonus but a bonus nevertheless.

I said back when the acquisition was announced elsewhere that COD will get the attention but it's King that's far more valuable to Microsoft than COD is. Microsoft would easily give up COD if they had to choose one or the other because one is on the decline and who knows how COD would be years from now while King allows Microsoft to get a foothold in mobile gaming which is simply worth more to them as a company than COD is.

For Sony, obviously it's all about COD because it makes them a shit ton of money, plain and simple.

The funny thing is that Jim Ryan said that he's looking out for gamers (lmao) but if that were true, why wouldn't he accept Game Pass on PlayStation 5 which if anything would harm Microsoft because why would anyone who's a PlayStation only gamer ever buy an Xbox console if they can play all of their first party games on PlayStation 5 via Game Pass? This also gives PlayStation 5 owners every game including ABK, Bethesda and the rest of the first party studios. If Jim is really for the gamers, he's not obviously but if he was, he should accept this in a heartbeat. Hell, if I could use my Xbox One controller and can download the games on my PlayStation 5 via Game Pass, I would trade in my Series X the next day because why would I need it if im getting everything I want on one console?
