Also from the presentation:

But he said: "I don't want to talk about Minecraft. Tell me why we're in gaming." We put down the deck that we had for that acquisition, and that was a moment for Satya, Phil, myself, and Amy Hood, of why is Microsoft in gaming.

That was eight or nine years ago, and the answer really is why is Microsoft in any business? It's a big and growing market that we have an ability to take and win share.

And that's why we do gaming at Microsoft. Of course, we can leverage assets and of course, we need consumer brands at Microsoft that are meaningful.
In my opinion, you can't just be all commercial-led. You have to have a good consumer lens too. But in the end, it's grow share in a big and growing market and that's what we're here to do.

The CEO of Microsoft needed to understand why MS cares about gaming. The primary answer: because we can take market share, and they want a consumer brand.

Maybe Xbox is going 3rd party sooner than I thought.

By buying all the content and forcing themselves on every platform. They want to gain market share at any cost.

Nintendo will be the first to buckle. Whatever happened to COD on Switch? They don't even care anymore. The plan was to piss of Sony. The same will happen with Gamepass on Switch.

What do you mean what happened to CoD on Switch? They'll probably get next year's on Switch 2. MS wasn't going to be able to port CoD oner in three months.

All the ads to promote the acquisition and that old guy from MS said 150 millions new users for COD when including Switch.

There is no 150 millions on Switch 2. Phil should be porting the new COD to Switch right now if he wants to keep that promise.

Same as the unions. Where are they? They're all silent. Nintendo should put pressure on MS but they won't because it wasn’t about getting COD.

What unions? In the US employees have to form the union, employers can't push one upon them.

All that circus from the unions was played in front of the media. They were celebrating when the deal went through.

What's stopping them to update us on the progress with Activision? Journalists should be hounding them about it.

It was all forgotten the next day.
