My dude.. I'm a Project Manager for Lockheed Martin with a Software Engineering and Integration background. Worked on the F-35 at LM Aero before moving to Missile Defense. Before that, I was Aviation Training Management for the Marines and worked right alongside the maintenance department of the USMC's F-5 unit that was 100% supported by civilian Sikorsky employees and was part of Lockheed's acquisition of that company. Obviously I was also around for Lockheed's failed attempt at acquiring Aerojet courtesy of the FTC.

Would it make you feel better if I said that Microsoft management aren't literally punching holes in walls when it comes to "Pissed-off Microsoft", but just an "aggressive Microsoft" like I mentioned later in the same post. Also, why wouldn't they continue spending to acquire talent?

I know you know about big tech business, so please educate me.

His outrage gives away his bias.

The CMA said that regulating an emerging market, with new entrants would be too difficult and that was part of the reasoning. They cant be constantly policing whethere Microsoft offer a deal to each new entrant.

Of course people like this obviously biased (bought off or personal bias) academic ignore that and try to create outrage by spreading misinformation.

Microsoft has a long history of secretly paying academics to support them/bash their competitors in the media without disclosing they are paid to do so. Kind of like Florian Mueller.

Yet he tries hard to bat for MS to acquire ATVI and other publishers, whines about sony being the market leader and all other kinds of bull. A hypocrite through and through, just like his idol Phil Spencer.

You can just imagine Sullivan talking with his nose up in the air, talking down to all these playstation peasants.

Let's be clear, this kind of behavior isn't exclusive to Microsoft, almost every policy think-tank in the DC space and many of them across academia are funded by industry. That's a big reason why so many laws are shaped by corporate interests (on top of straight-up bribery via lobbying and campaign donations) - because there are a LOT of pseudo-academic studies published pushing the knowledge space in a direction that's favorable to industry.

Gamepass is probably the worst thing to happen to gaming because it's just going to encourage developing shitty games that are cheap to make so that there's a constant flow of content on it, similar to netflix.
