There are 70 Billion reasons for the deal to go through. Shouldn't surprise anyone to the level of shilling. I consider this mild by the potential tbh. Still think MS was somewhat unprepared with their lobbying efforts. Heads should roll.

LMAO, MS got cut off making call of duty marketing deals according with deals. True Icarus myth big tech version right there, people.

Actually sounds more like they can't buy shares in each other or subsidiaries, not that MS can't go after COD marketing deals. Because that would probably be too egregious a restriction all things considered.

Though, considering MS and ABK are still trying to push the deal through, said marketing agreement could be seen as being influenced by the acquisition process and not seen as ABK acting independently.

Xbox delusion is reaching new levels

There's a 100 reasons why that would never happen. Sony wouldn't have to say anything.

A Nintendo buyout would be even more anticompetitive than ABK, and Nintendo would laugh them out of the room for even suggesting it to them. Pretty much every major regulator would tell them no, including Japan.

Oh, fr, japanese government would never accept it. Nintendo is cultural do Japan, imagine an american company owning it? There's simply no way it could happen.

It's not about no marketing deals. Xbox can do deals with ABK, but it wouldn't be in Activision's best interest to do business with MS unless they offer significantly more than Sony. Activision have a responsibility to its shareholders to get the best deal.

The CMA did the right thing to stop any stunt to intertwine the two parties in the meantime. This isn't in retaliation to anything, this would have happened if Brad Smith and Lulu bit their collective lips after the CMA decision. It's business for them and not personal.

Sony will sign another round with Activision for COD and pray one of their COD type GaaS take off in the meantime.
PS are not signing any new deal. They are just gonna reinvest that money in their FPS studios. Its like 100+mill marketing. They can split that 2 ways with their studios. COD is gonna sell anyway. No need to pay them for marketing. Just collect the fees.Put them at the back of the store. Lulu dumb ass has been out of pocket. Repercussions shall be met.

CMA just added no investments with acti. During all these proceedings. FTC in their home country is doubling down that lina lady aint playing. She already got a block. She looking for a more seasoning. These man are getting cooked.

You really think Sony won't continue the partnership? 2 reasons
1. The money. Whatever you think of COD, it had 2 of the 10 best selling games last year. Sony would be reckless to abandon that partnership where people see COD ads and they see Playstation. The money earned from COD is needed to fund other ventures.
2. The current ABK acquisition has put Xbox and Call of Duty together to casuals. Better off to keep it under lock and key until the acquisition is forgotten about, lest casual purchasers think it's going to be an Xbox exclusive.

It's business and who gives a shit about Lulu. The comments from ABK staff will weaken their negotiation power come the renegotiation. In 2013, when you thought COD you thought Xbox. In 2015 (I think) Xbox ceased marketing for COD, do you think Phil Spencer regrets that dumbass decision every day? What a difference a decade makes

It's crazy how much back-pedalling we've seen from Microsoft and their media stooges since the CMA's decision. Ahead of the Xbox 2022 showcase, Microsoft laid out their ambitions to redefine gaming over the next 20 years.

https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2021/06/10/satya-nadella-and-phil-spencer-on-gaming-at-microsoft/

Microsoft's cloud computing platform lay at the heart of their master plan. Satya Nadella openly boasted of their "incredible competitive advantage" in cloud gaming. Phil Spencer said "we see Amazon and Google as the main competitors going forward."

The CMA render their decision and suddenly Phil Spencer is not even sure such a market exists. lol
Kudos man, you've been doing god's work on this forum.

From what I’ve heard, the decision wasn’t Phil’s. Sony offered the same money, but had a much larger player base by that point, so Activision went where the sales were.
