You really think Sony won't continue the partnership? 2 reasons
1. The money. Whatever you think of COD, it had 2 of the 10 best selling games last year. Sony would be reckless to abandon that partnership where people see COD ads and they see Playstation. The money earned from COD is needed to fund other ventures.
2. The current ABK acquisition has put Xbox and Call of Duty together to casuals. Better off to keep it under lock and key until the acquisition is forgotten about, lest casual purchasers think it's going to be an Xbox exclusive.
It's business and who gives a shit about Lulu. The comments from ABK staff will weaken their negotiation power come the renegotiation. In 2013, when you thought COD you thought Xbox. In 2015 (I think) Xbox ceased marketing for COD, do you think Phil Spencer regrets that dumbass decision every day? What a difference a decade makes
PS is not renewing this deal. At this point there is no need to pay for marketing. COD sells itself. Especially after this buyout attempt. You dont reward people with more money. After they display no care for your business. How is bobby kotick going to talk to Jim Ryan with a straight face & be like. Yeah so let's set up another marketing deal for 4 years."Forgets about that MS stuff" the subpoenas exposing your contracts is good business is not a problem. Don't worry about me being on US TV weekly talking about selling. FOH
PS are in the process of lessening 3rd party control on their finances like COD,GTA etc. Hence the gaas games they are making. They will let the deal end. And put that marketing Money towards their own studios. They don't need to pay for marketing at this point. COD sells itself. It is not good money management especially for a game you will compete against.
