On the plus side for us, we get to see how competent or incompetent PlayStation is under Jim Ryan with these insights....

I'm hoping they are not as incompetent as I had been assuming the last year r two.

At this point i think it goes above Jim Ryan. Sony's current CEO, the one stepping down, views Playstation as niche. Sony probably has knopwn for awhile what some of Microsofts plans are but never did anything because the current guy is cheap when it comes to SIE. He recently undermined their cloud argument and on his way out the door wants to apparently waste 500 million on WB's music catalog of old movies. The new CEO that wants to focus on gaming cant get in soon enough.

Wasn't that idiot who sign the deal with m$ for server-cloud? When google are superior and isn't a competition?

They're still trying to push the narrative online that the cloud isn't a separate market. I don't see how that works when even places that approved the deal think it is.

Is there a new gaming focused CEO coming to Sony? I didn’t know that.

I actually disagree that he undermined it. He said there are technical challenges to cloud gaming but they are prepared to face those challenges. Media only reported the first half of that statement.
Yeah i though it was that comment.

Yeah it absolutely does not undermine any arguments, that's another shill talking point folks are just falling for.

Not sure on the timelines, but there was a point at which MS paid square to bring all of their FF titles to game pass. Would that line up with project phoenix?
Looks like once they stooped paying Square Enix just decided to stop with pretty much all Xbox ports save very few exceptions.

The Xboss is up next

Day two of the FTC v. Microsoft hearing starts at 8:30AM PT / 11:30AM ET today. We’ll get to hear from Xbox chief Phil Spencer and from PlayStation chief Jim Ryan via a prerecorded video deposition. Dov Zimring, former Stadia product lead, will also appear, as well as Jamie Lawver, a senior finance director at Microsoft.
Judging by the exhibit list that both the FTC and Microsoft have submitted, it looks like Phil Spencer is going to have a busy day with the potential for us to hear more about Microsoft’s xCloud strategy emails, how the company’s Activision Blizzard deal came to be, and some details around PlayStation publishing agreements. I’d expect, given the fact both Xbox and PlayStation chiefs are appearing, that it’s going to be yet another day of Microsoft vs. Sony
