As a PS fan, the death of Xbox is not a good thing.
Get a grip man. What is alternative? No more playstation, everything locked under subs, quality of games is like redfall and more kiddy games..
We already saw emails and heard testimonies, their only goal to kill Playstation and fuck consumers.
Nowhere in all that process any words about games.

The greatest hustle MS has ever pulled is managing to woodwink the naive into believing that they are the only ones who can compete with Sony.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. The presence of Microsoft alone is, in fact, placing a ludicrous barrier of entry for any more competitors.

And which are you doing?
To say that Activision only releases a relevant video game for consoles is a half truth. Microsoft, the third largest company in the world, wants to acquire the 5th or 6th video game company in earnings. For me and a lot of people , that is very worrying for the videogames market and competition. You can't reduce the discussion to "one console game per year"

I used to think XBox could turn things around, but after all that's come to light plus their dismal game output for years now (and lack of focus on games) - I would really like to see a new contender or contenders. Sony benefits from competition, but XBox ain't it. They haven't been since the 360. And so long as they focus solely on market domination and sub models over quality games, they never will be.

Why do these syncophants keep saying that "Activision leaves the UK and sells via a distributor"? What about fucking Microsoft, that would also close over the CMA? Are they leaving the UK too?

Insane

The alternative is that Microsoft owns Activision Blizzard, a company that usually releases one, and only one, relevant console game a year. Big fucking deal.

We're talking Gediminas's clown statement that the alternative is Playstation's death. What do King and Blizzard have to do with that? CoD is the only relevant thing there.

A large chunk of PS revenue comes from CoD, both directly and indirectly (PS+ subs).
Removal of a large third party franchise such as CoD can harm the brand massively in the long run.

But you know this, if it wasn't a "big fucking deal" MS would not be willing to spend 70 billion plus fines to permanently take ABK games away from PS gamers.

They aren't, though. That sum include Blizzard's output as well as the King segment of Activision.

Of course, let's focus on the extras they get from the purchase in order to gloss over the main goal and pretend it isn't a concern.

Those "extras" each create as much value as Activision on consoles on their own.

But don't target the profitability of a competitor in their respective markets.
Microsoft wants to make its own subscription service successful, thats what this is aimed at. To be quite frank, its weird as hell that the Blizzard part of this isn't being treated as the big deal since it has far more dominance of PC gaming than Activision proper does of consoles or King does of mobile. And since its mostly multiplayer subscription games anyway, they fit perfectly into the gamepass model.
