All of them are or were on PS+ that's why I chose them. They have more unique players than Halo or Forza. Deal with it.

GOW was 11 millions in Jan and it's still on top of the charts so it must be around 15 millions by now. 1 copy can be shared or families with multiple accounts. More players every day

How many millions of people played Horizon Forbidden West, God of War, Miles Morales, TLOU or Ghost of Tsushima? I bet all of them are at 20+ millions. Some 40+ millions even. That metric is valid for Sony too.

The metric is only as important as the new service registrations it brings with the hype (people who buy GP regs at full price for a long time instead of the game) OR the registrations it saves by making people believe they will get more games they love on it.

If there is no conversion: a gazillion of people playing a game means nothing for a business. Just like for anyone who has some online business, if they get tons of views and no conversion (buy ins) they will ask serious questions to their web team and potentially fire them. This is because they are not a bunch of teens in high school, they want something more than looking cool.

4:1 between PS and Xbox seems about right. Xbox does lean more digital slightly and obviously the game is on gamepass which will have suppressed xbox sales. Really high numbers on switch though wouldn't have expected that.

Let's say that GP has hit 35 million.

That's 35 million of 100 million PC players and 70ish million xbox owners.

Of that 35 million, most don't play big games that come to gamepass.

It's a failure.

COD is the most popular game on PS (by a significant margin). If made exclusive to Xbox/pc, millions would get a Xbox.

That’s a lot of wishful thinking. COD isn’t that big on “other platforms”. PC gamers aren’t that big on COD and we’ve already seen COD flop multiple times on Nintendo’s platforms. A large chunk of the high paying COD fanbase is on Playstation.

Sure MS can poach some of these PS guys by making COD exclusive to Xbox and GP but they aren’t gonna get all of them and there’s going to still be a shit ton of revenue lost. I actually believe MS on this one when they say they have zero intentions of making COD exclusive to Xbox, the math doesn’t add up when you take PS platform out of the equation.
