Yes, the latest PS5 update has indeed replaced some of the game's key art with news and ads related to those games. This change is aimed at keeping players informed about updates, events, or promotional content, but it has received mixed feedback. Many users miss the original artwork, feeling it disrupts the visual appeal of their library.

I love how this being a bug just exposed everyone who has zero issues with ads covering every bit of the Xbox UI but now it's a problem???
The most active and most angry users in these threads are always the xbots and PC gamers.

"This is why we need cOmpEtiTion!!!!"

"So glad I gave up on PS and moved to PC" (where all the stores have actual ads, Steam in particular have the exact same news feed as PS5. GOG and BattleNet is total pollution.)

I wonder how these people even use their phones or Windows if they want a complete blank page.

For the millionth time it’s not anything new or part of any update. It’s always been there. It was just not used a lot. By the time it became more prevalent activity cards took its place. So nobody realized. With the change to activity cards the news feed went back to the dashboard. BUT….

The error was that almost every game pulled the news feed to the UI when only the ones where developer chosen is suppose to. Outdated news also were brought up to the UI.

Hence the product manager saying “a bug to an existing feature.”

Nobody said anything about this or any other game last year. Why? Because it wasn’t used by all games and by the time more developers used it activity cards replaced it anyway.

Some games still have the news feed by the way even after they fixed whatever was wrong. It’s working as before.

I don't think that user is human. Or at least not a smart one.
