Steam deck … rofl

Nowhere in the same league as Ps5.

Nice stretch.

Master race my balls. Don’t believe these dorks. There are more next gen consoles out there than pcs capable of running next gen games.

Such a farce
What does that have to do with the thread?

Name a Sony game that won't run on the Steam deck. Hint: GoWR will run on the deck with the enhancements.

“Run”

You can scale plenty of software to run on trash hardware.

Just look at Bayonetta 3.

Steam deck is trash? I can assure you that the only downgrade on the deck is resolution. It can run HDAO from GoW 2018 which isn't available on PS4.

Sony is already porting games, Gran Turismo fits perfectly in with a PC service based gametype. I've seen more PlayStation guys by far wanting a Bloodborne port than for PC, easily 5:1.
Is that your scientific opinion is it 😄

Never said that. I think steam deck is cool hardware and I hope they take it to Nintendo. Of course you can scale plague tale down at some kind of lower spec on steam deck vs next gen consoles.

I was addressing DC’s post not yours.

800p, low settings and 30fps it's possible.
Where does this come from that steam deck has to run on lower settings?

I can run GoW 2018 with settings equal to GoWR.
The ONLY drawback is RT. The resolution is inherent in the LCD screen. It's a perfect compromise to lowering render settings. I can choose to run a game as I wish. More flexible than consoles.

The fact is you guys need to drop this port begging nonsense, because given Sony's trajectory in the PC space you're opening the door for us to flip this on you.

You're becoming petty, insecure and presenting like you're begging for ports not to happen.

Funny part is you're making this all about Sony games, which kind of ironically plays to a bigger issue with some of the port-begging: it also unfortunately involves a cluster of PC and Xbox fanboys who use it to take digs at PS console owners and playing up the semblance that Sony are becoming "like Microsoft" and that anything that can strip away what makes the PS platform unique while simultaneously validating (to them) the business actions of Microsoft is ultimately a good thing, because for some of these types it's also a sign of Sony somehow going closer and closer to leaving the console market as a platform holder.

Basically they engage in it for insincere reasons and are the loudest voices talking about Sony ports to PC BY FAR, so they taint a lot of that discussion no matter what. And like I just said, it also leads them to erroneously think Sony & Microsoft are interchangeable in terms of companies with similar business models, hence the weird pushes we've seen from many of those same folks attacking Sony for raising PS5 prices in several markets, or not doing Day-and-Date inclusion of all their 1P software in PS+ like MS does with GamePass, or not bringing their 1P to PC Day 1, or setting prices for PS5 games to $70, or not allowing cross-buy, or not aggressively subsidizing & pushing their subscription service. And in ALL of those instances, the intent is to parrot the idea Sony are being anti-consumer, because Microsoft built a lot of their message this gen off of being pro-consumer (supposedly).

That also enables outright exaggerated narratives for these types to push that are adjacent to these things, like the idea HFW is a commercial failure, or that TLOU Part 1 Remake is a commercial failure, because they want to try conditioning the idea that these games would have been more successful...if they were in PS+ Day 1 or had PC ports Day-and-Date, again for the purpose of ultimately validating for themselves Microsoft's own strategies not through Microsoft, but through Sony, the market leader whom they don't want to every acknowledge as being such.

You have to be willing to acknowledge that side to things and how it actually hurts the otherwise sincere & legitimate people in the scene (because I should add, it's not just no-name gamers engaging in what I described above: some big content creators and gaming journalists have been guilty of it as well), if you want me and I'm sure others to acknowledge that, yes, there are just regular gamers who genuinely are interested in playing Sony games on PC and that's all there is to it for them.

Doesn't have to but the few owners I've spoken have said have high settings tanks frame rate and battery life.

And that's a near five year-old game.

Who else is there that needs to port their games? Xbox is all in on PC, Nintendo anything can be emulated, there's basically no third party in existence that's not on PC.

Sony is the only somewhat of a holdout left so of course they are the target of all of this

People greatly underestimate this device, they also forget that at 30 FPS bar RT anything can be run on it at high'ish settings or beyond.

Nintendo's games being emulated does not equal them officially bringing their games to PC. Yet while Sony's model is closer to Nintendo's than it is Microsoft's, I never see the same fervor by people to tell Nintendo to port their games to Steam or EGS.

Because the reasons why they did that for Sony, or why they insist Sony should do Day 1 on PC for all games, are things Nintendo as a business would naturally want, no? More revenue, more profit, more players in their ecosystem.

I just find that exception rather strange, is all.

Big JRPG’s are wasted on the Switch, its like making a JRPG for the Gamecube compared to PS5/Xbox Series X etc

From what I understand, SMT V did quite well for itself on Switch. There's certainly an audience for it and other JRPGs on Switch, but I would argue there is on PS too. Especially since SMT has released on PS before and did well there too.

Ha now I finally understand what they mean when they say "Sony games WILL come to PC" with such absolute confidence:

In a few decades we will have some emulator capable of running the PS5 games on PC!
Ugh no...

The xbox crowd should definitely shut up, they have worked over time to convince us that PC is xbox, Sony ports a lot of their games to PC.

So only Nintendo remains, are we trading TLoU 2 for the Next Zelda game? and Mario for GoW R? Maybe some cross overs? Kratos would destroy Bowser once and for all, he would move to Zelda land, then on whatever colorful thing Kirby is fighting!

Edit: Kratos would have a kte with the Nintendo princesses that's for sure.
