No you can't, because GoW ragnarok on the PS5 is above PC maxed out settings and runs at 4k to boot. You don't need to lie to make a point.
OK. Let me get very detailed with you so that there is no debating it. And I don't appreciate you telling me I'm lying. There is no need for me to lie about stuff that's literally obvious and/or can be cross-referenced with information on the internet.
The following rendering additions were made to GoW:R from PS4 version:
1) SSDO (Directional ambient occlusion) : this is by far the most significant enhancement made to the game second only to the added micro-detail normal maps. It's an expensive rendering technique added to GoW:R.
It was a feature added to the PS5 from GoW(2018) for the PC. It runs on my Steam Deck.
2) Reflection/Cube Maps higher resolution. The PC version of GoW (2018) had a lower resolution in the graphics settings. I'm pretty sure they went up 2x in MIP level. In other words, if they used 512x512 reflection maps in 2018, they are 1024x1024 for GoW:R. I will be able to select it on SD.
3) Motion Blur Quality. DF actually found that the PS4 version of Moblur was smoother and looked better running at 30FPS vs. the PS5's version of moblur. This is unimportant to me, but it'll run on SD.
4) Added layer (micro) of the normal map detail on top of the macro detail texture - This is certainly the biggest difference between PS4 and PS5's screenshot comparison. It will take a little more texture memory for the added layer. When it releases on the PC, it will be baked into the "texture resolution" graphics settings. Matching the PS5 would take up more texture memory but it's unknown whether it will lower FPS. I will be able to select it on the SD.
Finally, note in the video by
DF @ time : 17:05, they mention how it looks like a PC version of GoW:R from PS4 version.
*NOTE* these games don't "know" that they are being run on a steam deck so the option will be there to select it.
If you think that the Steam Deck won't run GoW:R with PS5 settings @ 30FPS, then declare that now so we can prove it once it releases on the PC.
