it is the biggest game of the year so far. It did over a million concurrent players on Steam. Which is very rare. Nobody expected Palworld to be a major hit. It was suppose to flop. Time exclusive for them drive sales and game pass subs. Will it be a major increase? No but still a boost.
It will not boost anything related to Xbox, get real.

yes it will. Xbox got the biggest console time exclusive of the year. Bigger then FF7 or Stalker 2. Its a boost. Doesnt matter if its a big boost or not. A boost is a boost.
No it won't. Xbox is dead, deal with it, it's selling less than Xbox One and it will only keep getting worse. No $30 Pokemon clone is going to change that, come back to reality.

Palworld was a incredible get for the green machine. Biggest timed console exclusive of the year.

The fact that the biggest Xbox release in 5 years is a Pokémon rip off is kinda of insane
Every day Xbots come up with a new delusion that is going to make Xbox less irrelevant , Minecraft, Roblox, Vampire Survivor, PUBG, etc, many of those were on Xbox and not on PlayStation for years and things only kept getting worse for Xbox.

A normal person doesn't want anything to do with Xbox in 2024 and nobody is buying an Xbox or get into a subscription service because of these occasional games that have success on mobile/PC.

Maybe wait until Famitsu before celebrating.

Hifi Rush, Redfall, Starfield and Roblox didn't help. The sales actually went down. I don't think a $20 asset flip meme game will reverse the sinking ship but we'll see 🤣

I'm having fun with Palworld. I don't play these survival-like games so it's pretty fresh for me. If only this was a full release and not EA.

Some can even expand to give you a full dungeon experience in co-op. Lots of potential to build on. My first experience with the genre was Fallout 76 and for all its faults the survival hooks kept it alive to this day (I long retired it). It was entertaining for a bit. At that point you had to give yourself your own reasons to play; which early on was just building your house. Conan and Ark are other big games in the genre and I hear offer deeper multiplayer and dugeon experiences.

I can see why players love them. So it doesn’t surprise to hear a new one is taking off and in particular on pc.

Personally I’m just waiting for a different game to bring these gameplay hooks together in a better package suiting my tastes. It’ll happen at some point…

Fallout was a good setting for that. But that game would need a major rework and a full fledged campaign/expansion to even look at again and not really what they’ve been doing.

Isn't the reason this didn't release on ps because it's early access?

I think it's hard to find the right balance in these type of games between tedium and timewasting compared to the reward and enjoyment of the gameplay loop. One game in this vein I really liked is Eco which is a "realistic" Minecraft like game. It has a lot of tedium, e.g. you have to physically carry rocks you mine out of the mine (though you can later utilise machines), but has a great sense of progression especially when played cooperatively. Usually games like this are janky and barebones so despite the desire for such a game they're never really provided to the market in a manner that escapes criticism. I'll be interested to see how far/long I can play Palworld before the EA component bites but the few hours I played last night where pretty satisfying and gameplay design such as fast travel really reduces some of the tedium.
