I'm a console gamer I'd be annoyed if Sony put all their games on pc & still called them playstation games since playstation is the console itself not just a brand that they can apply to everything

Sony has multiple games on PC, all their biggest franchises. Fate on mobile. They have Destiny and MLB on all consoles. You can subscribe to PS+ on PC. What's the difference with Xbox at this point? Can we say that Playstation doesn't rely on hardware anymore?
I don't know why this narrative only appies to Xbox when Sony is doing the same thing. They are everywhere too.
Xbox call themselves Xbox game studios but all their games are made for pc first so they may aswell call themselves windows game studios not even sure if they still use directX which is why they called it Xbox in the first place lol
At one point all the XGS designated studios will have to release on Playstation and Nintendo platforms.

I won't lie, I'd play Forza Horizon if the standard returned to where it was before. Those games look decent and seem to have potential to be fun.
Most of their library doesn't appeal to me otherwise but I'd pick up things along the way and give them a go at least.
Better than trying to push Xbox sales..which hasn't gone anywhere.

Is this him trying to lay the ground work for an acquisition in Japan by “promising” wink wink that everyone is already part of Xbox so won’t you pretty please allow this acquisition to go through? We know the Sega acquisition was greenlit all the way back in 2020, whether that just turned into a day 1 game pass deals or postponed we don't know. But you're right this could be him laying the groundwork to go after Sega since ABK is done

What have they responded with these last years with MS and embracer buying multiple studios and publishers… Bluepoint, HouseMarque were well overdue. Bungie is still multiplatform. Sony needs to do more, especially with losing 3rd party exclusives and 2 major 3rd party publishers. It hasnt happened in the industry before and Sony hasn’t responded.
We’ve had one big show in 2 years, there communication with the fans has been pretty shit, if you like it fine. I expect more

Everything phil spencer says has some ulterior motive or hidden messaging. What he’s trying to put out into the ether is that they are trying to wall in playstation and nintendo players with these major purchases, just like they claim Minecraft users on other platforms as xbox users.
Its not really a “we’re all gamers” speech it’s a “microsoft is finding ways to capitalize off users on competing hardware” because theirs is struggling and they have no other way to gain marketshare other than continuous spending. He’s signaling to investors that MAU is how they are going to measure success from here on out and they can increase that through these acquisitions
