Sony will have a great first four months of 2024 with four new first party games. Helldivers 2 which obviously already released followed by MLB The Show 24, Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade. Overall, a great start to 2024 and far better than a year ago.
They will have a great year as I'm sure they have other smaller partnerships for the second half. I see Silent Hill 2 being a mediocre partnership unfortunately.

Still holding out hope for Concord to be a surprise hit.

Silent Hill 2 looked good if it was an AA title but for what is supposed to be an AAA title, it needs another year because Bloober Team has some more work to do in my opinion. Of course, it all depends on what the budget is for the game. I haven't been a fan of Konami since the 360/PS3 generation and I don't believe that they care at all to be honest.

What exactly is Concord? Is it PvE or PvP?

One game im still waiting to see an update for is Lost Soul Aside. I'm also interested in Convallaria but im hoping it can be played solo like Division/Outriders.

That was 2/3 generations ago. There's Gateway too in 2004 that was popular but the rest 😬😬

You can't fund a studio with 1 good VR game in a decade.

If the Getaway released in 2000 like they orginally planned, I bet it would have been bigger than GTA

They should of at least made PS Home 2 and Singstar for VR. It fits pretty well

And yes your right. Either they keep these kind of studios for smaller projects and assisting other studios. Or get rid of them and bring in another who will make profit.
I think its somewhat unfair of Sony to expect VR games to support these studios and then fire them because it hasnt

Yeah my friend loved it. It really should be something to make especially now they are releasing on PC.
They need a social hub and that would be perfect
It was a good concept held back by PS3 hardware. I remember watching the PS4 reveal In PS Home in the cinema 🤣

Or going to the Uncharted 3 lounge and jumping in the multiplayer from PS Home. This is the kinda stuff VR needed... Not 1:1 ports of console games we already played.

And PS Home made a lot of money.

Agreed. Games 1:1 ports are fine, Ace Combat was great, trying GT7 was amazing, RE8 Im sure is too. But they really also need tailor made games for VR and also stuff like PS home, and party games etc.

This is why I dont agree with people when they say gamers have no idea how to run a gaming company, leave it to the pros…
The pros arent probably playing games like us, they really came under prepared for PSVR2. And from the sounds of it, the PS studios….

Yeah one of the projects are cancelled but there is rumored to be two. The gaas one was cancelled.
I didn't know there was 2 projects, unless you mean the game and the TV show?

So Sony's California Clique greenlit the absolutely visually unappealing trash that was Destruction Allstars, released it to die, when they could have used that dev time towards Twisted Metal game, knowing they had a TM TV show coming down the road... and now the forthcoming TM game is dead too?

No highly doubtful speculation tht there were two gaming projects. I doubt tht though.

The second Twisted Metal project is just rumor and speculation created by randos.

It’s not even the hottest take tbh. Has the show been renewed for a second season?

If that’s the case they would still want to launch a twisted metal game anyway. Which leads to my belief that Twisted Metal got cancelled because it was turning out like shit. Start anew.

Blaming any of these people for the one or two things you don't like is baby brain. The best we can do is respond to their PR style, but Phil Spencer proves that doesn't count for shit when it comes to delivering great games. I always thought Shawn Layden was a dweeby, awkward, business oriented guy when he was leading Playstation, but great games came out under his watch. Is that to his credit? Were the teams just on fire creatively? We really can't know.

The thing I respect about Hulst is he oversaw Guerrilla from being a joke studio after KZ1 or being a great studio after KZ2, and then flipping the script and reaching GOAT status with Horizon. Anybody committed to block buster new IP and actually pays it off counts for a lot in my book.

the only thing Hulst is committed to is going on vacation as often as he can and doing as little work as possible
