Where is Ghost of Tsushima 2? Where is Last of Us 3? Where is Days Gone 2 or whatever? There's no causal link between Playstation investing in Haven, Bungie, Firewalk, and Playstation's elite single player teams dropping the ball on their projects. You should be happy there's a Plan B in the works at all. The Recipe for Success isn't delivering, unless you really like Spiderman.
Lol what are you even saying? What does this have to do with what I said in anyway?

Maybe you responded to the wrong person?

There's no Days Gone 2 and we know TLoU Part III is not coming anytime soon because of the TLoU Part II remaster documentary.
sorry if it wasn't clear, the spirit of the post is not 'where are these specific games'

the point is: why do these teams have nothing to show 5+ years since their last project? not even saying Sucker Punch needs to release something in 2024. We don't officially know what they're working on at all. That is crazy this far into the console cycle.

Are you not arguing "The Perfect Recipe For Success" is making AAA mega budget single player games that can only be played on the Playstation console? I think the point was pretty clear that The Perfect Recipe For Success is not delivering the goods. It hasn't been abandoned by Sony at all. The teams responsible for that recipe just aren't getting it done.

NEW: As part of today's mass layoff, Sony has canceled a Twisted Metal live-service game that was in development at UK-based studio Firesprite, Bloomberg has learned. Firesprite will also lay off an unspecified number of people.

Damn, why cancel it when its probably closer to release?

Another TV show wasted. (TLOU tv series was gonna boost TLOU Factions 2)

Wonder why all these multiplayer games are being cancelled when Helldivers 2 has been such a success

I always hate hearing tht shit. I respect the Nintendo CEO at one point cutting his pay and other exec pay during cash flow issues.

Iwata was a great person. Let’s hope Nintendo doesn't announce layoffs anytime soon, but I doubt it because they are in cost-saving mode all the time.

Why do you assume that it's anywhere close to release?
The project was moved from Lucid Games to Firesprite with a strong possibility that they scrapped all the previous work.

It's also the type of game (Car Combat) that isn't made nowadays, I suspect that trying to figure out what the game should be and who's the audience for it would be particularly difficult for creatives to pinpoint.

Of every GaaS project we've heard was in the works, this was always the one I had the least faith in.

Why develop GaaS titles in secret to begin with? That makes no sense.

Sony seems really scared of cancelling announced games but doesn't mind the PR from closing studios. :ROFLMAO:

They're still selling their console at no price drop, it's clear they're trying to keep profits/margins high in preparation for the upcoming couple of years where profitability will be going down due to shipping a new console/bunch of big games.
