With the European release happening this week, the new PlayStation Plus will be finally available worldwide with over 700 games from any PS generation plus more coming every month. It features 3 tiers, which are:
This new service replaces the previous PS Plus and PS Now, so this is how you are migrated in the moment it will be released in your country:
To make it easier for the future and avoid mistakes with the tiers, seems from now on Sony will stop selling PS Plus cards in retailer or cd key stores and will only sell there PSN money cards that you'll be able to buy in the PSN store any tier with them.
Let's talk about it! I'd suggest to talk about these topics in this thread:
- Essential: the normal PS Plus we had before, with same features (including PS Plus Collection), content and pricing
- Extra: Everything included in Essential, in addition to up to over 400* games, mostly originally released for PS4 and PS5 (plus a few remasters/remakes as exceptions like Demon's Souls or SoT)
- Premium: Everthing included in Extra, in addition time limited full game trials, cloud gaming on PS and PC and to up to over 340* games, basically titles originally released for PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, Vita and arcade (some of them emulated, some of them remade and the PS3 ones who aren't remakes/remasters for PS4 or PS5 are only available via cloud gaming).
- Deluxe: Cloud gaming is only available in 30 countries, so the other ones have this tier which is a reduced price version of Premium without cloud gaming.
This new service replaces the previous PS Plus and PS Now, so this is how you are migrated in the moment it will be released in your country:
- If you have only have a PS Plus sub active, you get migrated to PS Plus Essential. Same content and pricing
- If you have only a PS Now sub active, you get migrated to PS Plus Premium, you get the content previously available on PS Plus, the time limited full game trials, newer PS4 games, PS5 games and PS1 and PSP emulated games
- If you have both PS Plus and Now subs active, you get migrated to PS Plus Premium and you expiration date will be the longer of the two. Meaning that if you had 4 years of Plus stacked and only a month of PS Now left, or instead only 1 month of Plus and 4 years of stacked PS Now, now you'll have 4 years of PS Plus Premium. So if you have a lot of Plus stacked and don't have Now, make sure you buy and redeem a 1 month PS Now before it gets released in your country.
- What do you think about the new service and its catalog?
- Do you prefer the new focus merging Plus and Now or did you prefer the previous one?
- What do you think about it when compared to Gamepass?
- Which hidden gems included in the service would you suggest?
- Do you miss any particular games on its catalog?
- Which games do you think they'll add in the upcoming monthly updates?
- If you tried the cloud gaming after the new PS+ release, which internet connection do you have, in which devide do you play and how it has been your cloud gaming experience?
- Please share any related last minute news here!
