When you start doing things for other devices not available on your own hardware, it’s time to go back to the drawing board and go over what got you here in the first place.

It wasn’t supporting other platforms. 🤦‍♂️

Sony have lost the plot in some areas that's for sure. Valve does not like your company.
if this were true they wouldn't get any response on getting their games verified, or be allowed to post that TLOU startup deck animation

Sony probably figured they steer people to Steam Deck so they wont buy an Xbox handheld of they make one.

buying every console and platform is rather expensive and takes up a lot of space. TVs only have so many HDMI ports.
I would know

Ridiculous excuse. It's like rich people crying about not having enough space in their garage for their new Ferrari.

"Oooh this water's getting a bit hotter," thought the frogs, "but that's still no reason to leave my comfy pot."
Are you in the wrong river? PlayStation's river doesn't cross Steam Deck's river... no it doesn't matter to PlayStation if Steam Deck's river is getting hotter.

It sold less than 200k on PC. Do you seriously think they couldn't find the same amount of people (and more!) on PS5?

It's number 25 on Steam, they sell more on PSN in a weekend.
I agree that keeping things exclusive was healthier for their walled garden approach to business, for sure. But as a gamer it’s cool that more people get to experience that… hope that makes sense.

Currently the Portal makes sense as ''cheap'' extension of your PS5. If you want native handhelds you have different options.
But if you decide to do one, then why give away your USP and catalogue. That's why I say it's no difference for me than if they drop games on Switch.

After selling around 120M PS4s I don't see why they should consider competition a PC handheld that sold around 3.3M until now.
