What game would best showcase the improvements of the Pro as a 'must have' upgrade for the general consumer?

(Was TLoU used as a demo for PS4PRo?)

only consoles have this bs, people spend thousands of dollars on a RTX 4080, thousands of dollars on a new iPhone, but consoles have to stay capped at 500/600, it's ridiculous.

It's not for the lack of trying, though. It's just that every console maker who tried to raise this bar got screwed over in the process.

I'm hoping for a 1TB SSD, 24GB of RAM and an upgraded CPU. The GPU can stay the same because I care much more about the performance and memory than I do the resolution and visuals especially when games like Avatar from Ubisoft already look amazing so Sony's first parties should look even better with the same GPU they have now.

This is completely backwards to how it needs to work. CPUs need to sort of stay the same because they are the "brain" of the game. The part that is more easily scalable is the graphics rendering because of the parallelized nature of the work. This wouldn't count in cases where a game is CPU bound, but given how many games run at 60fps in performance modes, the GPU appears to be the limiting factor on these console titles, in a big way. Updating the CPU but not the GPU would get you nothing in terms of a "pro" model.

Yeah, i agree. CPU is already overkill.
Only games which can max CPU is games like Total War where you need complex computing power.

Most games are CPU bound so increasing the GPU isn't going to increase the performance in regards to frame rate and frame pacing. The main two components will always be the CPU and the RAM. GPU is third at best. Games already look amazing but what is one aspect that's always lacking? It's the performance and that's due to the weak CPU and 16GB of RAM. Both need to be increased another level or two. The GPU is the most powerful component in the PS5 out of the three. It doesn't need an upgrade.

no it is not. you are mistaken something.
CPU is the most future proved component.

i can take CPU from 2012 and play games 60fps on FHD or higher resolution, i can't do that with GPU.

Taking a CPU from 2012 and playing games at 60FPS at 1080p or higher doesn't mean anything because it comes down to the game itself. If you take a 2D pixel art game, sure, you'll be just fine but if you take a massive open world game with a lot of shit happening in the background while playing the game, you won't get 60FPS especially if you want higher resolutions. The GPU in the PS5 is excellent. I don't know why you believe it to be the weakest component when it's not. Have you see the games? Visuals and graphics are not the issue and haven't been for a long time.

Some games are GPU bound but majority aren't. When you get that far superior GPU in the Pro model with the same CPU/RAM and are still playing GTA 6 at 30FPS, you let me know if the increased resolution and some graphical effects were worth the trade off.

I agree, I'd pay proper for a nice jump.
