The "Road to PS5" presentation from Mark Cerny has a 3:1 like/dislike ratio while the new "PS5 Pro Technical Presentation" reversed that to 1:3.
The PS5 Pro announcement trailer has Sony's dislike ratio's record of almost 1:5.


I guess Microsoft must be paying all these hundreds of thousands of YouTube accounts to downvote and other hundreds of thousands not to upvote.


Or maybe SIE's current CFO-turned-interim-CEO-turned-chairman is a bean counter that is a little bit out of touch about his consumer base, and the general public response is only a symptom of that.

2 - Tiered prices by having much higher markups outside the USA. No one likes to hear they're 2nd rate customers but Sony just shoved that in their faces.

3 - Push for digital only, where Sony achieves a monopoly in distribution and gets to dictate game prices. Physical copies are often found cheaper than the same game on PSN.

4 - New console sold as a premium device with premium price gets sold with barebone software and accessories: no games, one standard controller, no disc drive, not even vertical stand that probably costs Sony like $3.


Everything about the PS5 Pro just screams of Sony saying you'll just pay up like the little bitches that you are and be glad I'm not charging twice as much.

There was plenty of hate towards Xbox when they increased console prices in Japan, when they closed down Tango and again when they inevitably tiered and increased Gamepass prices.


Though it's only natural that a lot more people are irritated about Sony's change of strategy than there would ever be about anything Xbox, considering the latter's active userbase is probably 4x larger at the moment.

The XBOX SX is in crisis right now, and it's basically living out its days, so no one is even paying attention to it.

The only thing MS can do with the XSX is to officially turn it into a Windows PC, and start putting pressure on regulators to force Sony and Nintendo to do the same (not in terms of installing Windows, but in terms of allowing alternative sources of software installation).

They could not have gotten one single 3rd party to come on board to showcase the new improvements for their brief video?

I have a theory that the reason Microsoft keeps Phil Spencer in charge despite continuously failing as an executive is because Microsoft's and his goal is not to make Xbox succeed in gaming, but rather to disrupt the gaming industry and destroy Sony at any cost. There's no other reasonable explanation for how that dude is allowed to fail over and over and over, any other executive would have been replaced 5 years ago. If you have seen the interviews with former Xbox executives you will know that Microsoft only entered gaming because they didn't want Sony to dominate the living room.
