I think it's super sus that these devices with minuscule upgrades got glowing reviews from reviewers.

I think there is a massive double standard when it comes to Sony. Maybe you could argue that if this dropped for 600 the reviews would be more positive, but if you're making the value argument I don't see how you can ignore how the PS5 Pro compares to PCs.

Problem is honesty and transparency not how early reviews coming up.

PS5 rated the same as Xbox SX at release, one of biggest scams in gaming world.
I remembered leading up to this generation Ryan McCaffrey made a car analogy he compared the Series X to a V8 engine and the PS5 to a V6 engine. All they do is eat up the FOMO.

I think the Pro is unique in the sense of how much it is worth at this unique time, you would absolutely need more than a week to come to that conclusion.

Too many reviews I think have thrown on a handful of games and not particularly the "right" games to best judge the console as opposed to the software.

Unlike the Switch OLED and Switch Steam Deck, there are performance gains here and they depend on a game by game basis.

The reviews don't reflect much foresight, which is pretty important with a system like this which is going to be the premier console experience for the next 2-3+ years. For example, IGN's review makes ZERO mention of GTA6 or Ghost of Yotei, yet more time and attention is placed (and I think incorrectly) on the fact that there are still 30 fps modes, so the idea of FOMO is still there.

This is bad journalism and exactly why we have some broken games from PS4.

If journalism like this didn't exist, we could have had a 60 fps mode on Bloodborne for the PS4 Pro, that probably would have been sub 1080p, but with dynamic resolution, but journalists at the time would have complained that the resolution was LOWER than the base console, so why is the PS4 Pro needed. One it would have been the better mode to play and two it would have sung on PS5.

All these games running at 30 on PS5 Pro in Fidelity Pro mode are going to SING day 1 on PS6... SING... This is how we get forever games out of single player games and how we protect single player games for the future.

Sony and devs should NOT be penalized for 30 fps PS5 Pro modes. It's a good thing.
