sounds incredible. PS5 is premium console, this one sounds even more so.
Only thing I'm not so happy about is that the disc drive from slim fits.

If makes sense to be compatible but I think this means Pro will look quite similar to normal ps5.

yeah, there will be 2 editions. i hope, that the design is going to be as good as PS5.

Similar to that but much more elegant and official looking. There aren't many crossing lines in their design language, so those blue led parts would be curvy.

The thing I'm looking forward to most is a Mark Cerny 2 hour presentation with his soothing voice explaining PS5 Pro hardware.

Standard PlayStation 5 – 448 GB/s (14 GT/s)
PlayStation 5 Pro – 576 GB/s (18GT/s) – A 28% increase over the standard console.
Also outlined is that the PlayStation 5 Pro’s system memory is more efficient than the standard console, so the bandwidth gain may increase by over 28%.
CPU

The CPU is identical to the standard PlayStation 5, however, the Pro has a ‘High CPU Frequency Mode”, which takes the CPU to 3.85GHz – A 10% increase over the standard console.
In High CPU Frequency Mode, more power is allocated to the CPU and will downclock the GPU by around 1.5%, resulting in roughly 1% lower GPU performance.
Audio

The ACV in the PlayStation 5 Pro runs at a higher clock speed over the standard PlayStation 5, resulting in the ACM library having 35% more performance.
More convolution reverbs can be processed
More FFT or IFFT can be processed

Why do we keep seeing 33.5 or 67 Teraflops? That Xbox levels of disingenuous marketing, although not from PlayStation at this moment.

it is 16,7TF. agree. this is misleading.
If it's 67 titflops at fp16 is it not 33 titflops at fp32, which is the measurement that people look at usually?

And I think it will be the 16 or whatever, but the numbers are weird

FP16 = 67TF
Fp32 = 33.5TF
Fp64 = 16.7TF

Current Gen is generally measured against FP32

But someone may have more solid info.
CU*GHZ of GPU*L1 cache

36cu*2.235*128=10,29tflop PS5

60cu*2180* if L1 - 128=16.74tf PS5 PRO
60cu*2180* if L1 - 256= 33,48tf PS5 PRO

RDNA 3 has L1 cache 256. so PS5 PRO should be 33,48tf

The reason that some people say it's 16.7 TF is because of a few reasons:

-it's actually 16.7 TF if you don't utilize the dual-issue FP32 commands
-these FP32 can only dual-issue a few instructions, it's not the full instruction set
-most game engines won't utilize the extra TF

I would temper your expectations and always remember Mark Cerny: "It's dangerous to rely on teraflops as an absolute indicator of performance"

Of course let's just ignore what other upgrades that are coming, and reduce it's worth to framerate.

For someone who primarily plays on playstation, they could possibly be saved from the vaseline filters. That alone would make a huge difference.

Pc gamers are way too loud mouthed on the pro, and deciding whether it's worth it or not, get the fuck outta here.
