Of course let's just ignore what other upgrades that are coming, and reduce it's worth to framerate.

For someone who primarily plays on playstation, they could possibly be saved from the vaseline filters. That alone would make a huge difference.

Pc gamers are way too loud mouthed on the pro, and deciding whether it's worth it or not, get the fuck outta here.

If it doesn't guarantee 60fps i'm not getting it

Some of those have no buisness being 30fps either.

Like the medium and quarry, silent hill was just a demo. Can't see any of those being bottlnecked by the CPU if they did push for 60fps.

Gotham knight I have no idea why that is 30fps.

I've played it and that open world is empty as fuck, barley anything happening.

But then again that game was half assed in so many ways so not surprised.

Actually thinking about Gotham knights, forgot that it had untethered coop mode which was the reason given for the frame rate.

But that's the exception I guess.

60cu*2180* if L1 - 128=16.74tf PS5 PRO
60cu*2180* if L1 - 256= 33,48tf PS5 PRO

RDNA 3 has L1 cache 256. so PS5 PRO should be 33,48tf

Why would cache be used to calculate TFLOPs here? Is this an RDNA3 thing?

It looks to be that it will fall between a 6750 XT and a 6800 in terms of performance and will likely be based off of the 7700.

PlayStation 3 sold more than any Xbox ever and had a $599 model on release.

It was a poorly designed hardware in hindsight and was too expensive to manufacture but it actually always sold well, the public was there for it.
Issue was region locked nature of it at the time. UK never got the PS2 Hardware BC SKU at all if I recall correctly; and only a limited capacity version of the PS2 Software BC SKU.

I was "this" close to picking on up from GameStop on fam holiday that year but didn't want to have to import every game/blurry for the console. Then PS4 came out and was region free, but had no BC.

I don't get this "it will be a super premium console" talk.

It's by far the smallest mid-gen upgrade we've seen so far, where the only thing that gets a substantial upgrade is raytracing performance.

This is an upgrade that uses a good amount of very smart architectural upgrades propped up by custom hardware, like PSSR that will probably allow for the PS5 Pro to render at a lower native resolution than a PS5 using temporal upscaling, paired up with a 50% wider GPU.

The increase in die size between the original N7 Oberon and the new N6 Trinity might actually be very small, and N6 is cheaper than N7 (moreover in 2024 compared to 2020).


It looks to be that it will fall between a 6750 XT and a 6800 in terms of performance and will likely be based off of the 7700.
It should be close to the 7700XT in rasterization performance, but might be near or even above the 7900XTX in heavy raytracing loads. Couple that with an upscaler that probably lets it run at a lower base resolution for the same output IQ, and the PS5 Pro should go head and shoulders above the 7800XT / 6900XT where Sony wants it to.
