Best console I have ever owned.

I have owned 4.

Master system, mega Drive, Ps4 pro, PS5.

I'd have to say the same, and I have owned ColecoVision, NES, SMS, Genesis, TG-16, SNES, 3DO, PS1, Saturn, PS2, Dreamcast, Xbox, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, PS4 Pro, and PS5 for home consoles. (Yes, I am old.) I also have a Switch OLED, but that is a handheld with a dock, not a home console.

Might not be long till 60 million and that is about half way to PS4 numbers.

If they want to outpace PS4, they really need to hit 70 million by the end of 2024 fye.

I'd still put PS2, PS3 and PS4 above PS5 due to game releases and exclusive games so far but it could change if they improve a few things and stop doing ports to pc.

Still having a great time with it and wouldn't game anywhere else though.

The target was 63 million by the end of March... I don't see it happening. Demand is now price sensitive for them.

PS5 can't even beat PS4 but the Series is tracking ahead of the original Xbox.

If PS5 Pro launches next year, they’ll do it. Actually they’ll do it anyway, but the Pro model will give them boost. Sony counts Pro and the OG as the same with sales.

I did not miss neither and for me it is....

PS5 > PS1 > PS4 > PS2 > PS3

Full backwards compatibility with ps1
Could connect to the psp
Cheapest DVD player at the time
Pressure sensitive buttons
Some games like GT4 let you play at native 1080i
Great library of games

I agree, PS2 is among the greatest consoles ever, just because you can play games from the greatest ps to me, the PS1.

But I absolutely hate the IQ on the PS2. Is the worst of it's generation by far. Even worse than the Dreamcast, which was older.

A PS2 pro with HDMI output and mandatory 480p/720p support would have been great.

Also era, when is the PC port canibalization effect kicking in? Ps7 era maybe?
