Nope, I played with an NTSC PS2 but even then it didn't have good IQ when compared to it's rivals. Blurry and jagged most of the time. Even with component cables.

I agree, PS2 is among the greatest consoles ever, just because you can play games from the greatest ps to me, the PS1.

But I absolutely hate the IQ on the PS2. Is the worst of it's generation by far. Even worse than the Dreamcast, which was older.

A PS2 pro with HDMI output and mandatory 480p/720p support would have been great.

Also era, when is the PC port canibalization effect kicking in? Ps7 era maybe?

Yeah, inertia from Shawn, every one but Jim and all the failed 1st party ip’s is what got the PS5 to 50 million just as fast as the PS4 got to 50 million……
