Rate the State of Play (31st January 2024)

Started off very strong with Stellar Blade but I lost interest after the 6 minute trailer for DS2 at the end.
I'm hyped about the two Silent Hill games.
Foamstars is great
Dragons Dogma is another rmasterpiece
Judas, well I never cared for bioshock so it did nothing for me
I was really hoping for more on Metal Gear Solid Delta

ngl, that SoP was a flex for real. 2024 just became PS5 best year. Why? Cause im literally buying 8/10 of the games shown today
- Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin looked mid at best.
- Helldiver 2 looked fine.
- Until Dawn remake for PC looks seems like a joke.
- Death Stranding 2 looked great but it's a 2025 (I consider this bad news).
- Silent Hill 2 by Bloober looked like shit.
Sony lineup for the second half of 2024 and 2025 and beyond look unbelievably bad compared to what we had (both released and announced) at this same point last gen.
I would give this a C if Sony had been on a roll with Showcases and SoPs in the past few years but as things are, this gets an F.
PlayStation Studios are in a terrible state and are now extremely unproductive, Hermen Hulst, you suck bro.
edit: forgot about the Metro VR, that looked potentially really good.

Great games announced and the Kojima stuff blew my mind. Very hype.
Negatives were pc announcement of Until Dawn and no first party stuff... Along with one or two filler games or waker showings.

Were good offering... Those are all games I will definitely buy
But it's still lacked punch. I feel like they intentionally had this State of Play leaked to temper expectations and left out the final Kojima announcement..to bring it back up.
Either way step in the right direction but we need more Uncharted 4, God of War, Final Fantasy 7, Shemnue moments.
And please for the love of God Sony makes peace with Quantic Dreams and get them back on contract.

Oh and I forgot to mention the true Game of The Year: Dragons Dogma 2... This game is gonna be their Monster Hunter World breakout moment.

I rated it C since everything was already announced and just getting new details on them. Stellar Blade looked pretty good, DS2 looked schizophrenic, jumping between great looking to incredibly ridiculous. Silent Hill 2 looks alright, Dragon's Dogma looks great, Rise of the Ronin, again, looks...alright.

Everything was amazing. The VR games were legit interesting, especially the Fantasy swordplay one.
