Reportedrelax guys he worked in the games industry 15 years ago.
hey i worked QA at Ubisoft montreal in college, and my name's in the credits for watch dogs 2. Maybe I should get an industry veteran tag as well.
Call out your own hypocrisy, then maybe, just maybe, people here will have a modicum of respect for you.Me calling out hypocrisy of certain posters is not adding to the drama. People do it all the time here. As soon as they stop being hypocrits then they won't be called out. Keep your fins to yourself please and don't worry about others. Your opinion has 0 value to me.
If Sony really was serious about PC then they should had created a new ecosystem there.I get what you are saying - but the thing is that game development costs are astronomical - Sony creating PC ports allows them to open up their titles to a whole other market and help them recoup development cost and possible make some more profit as well.
Microsoft issues are not the fact that they games also come to PC now, their issue is the lack of good titles compared to Sony, that's the problem. It has nothing to do with them being on PC or not lol.
Exclusivity is going to become a thing of the past for everyone - MS already has left that boat and now Sony is following it as well. It's only a matter of time before they release their titles day 1 on PC as well.
I think that's why they hired that Apple guy recently. If Sony really was serious about PC then they should had created a new ecosystem there.
Launcher, Store, etc all PC focused.
PlayStation PC ports exclusives to PlayStation launcher/store.
What the point to try to use PC ports to cover development costs if you need to give 30% to a Store that do nothing for you?
BTW Sony wants to increase revenue... development costs were longer paid by game sales on PlayStation alone.
If you want to increase revenue using PC then you have to get rip off from Steam, EGS, etc.
The way Sony is doing it today is only damaging the PlayStation brand.
Why would Sony need their own launcher when you have Steam, Origins and Epic Games already? There is enough and Steam is too big to fail. Steam is doing well for the Xbox titles and I believe that God of War did pretty good as well.If Sony really was serious about PC then they should had created a new ecosystem there.

I call you Dick Cunt! After he called me a cunt on multiple occasions, how many times did I report him?
They hired him to rework the PlayStation Store on web and console. None of his expertise would be applicable to trying to build a Steam clone.I think that's why they hired that Apple guy recently.
FYI, my full name is Richard in Cunt.I call you Dick Cunt!
This is name calling, just brush it off we aren't in primary school.
Because PlayStation is it own ecosytem. Why would Sony need their own launcher when you have Steam, Origins and Epic Games already? There is enough and Steam is too big to fail. Steam is doing well for the Xbox titles and I believe that God of War did pretty good as well.
How is Sony hurting damaging themselves by putting titles on Steam? If anything, they are spreading their highly praised games on the biggest digital platform in existence, what are you talking about? You pay 30% because it's the largest store and easiest way to market your game on the PC.
I hope so... I can't see they giving away 30% of revenue when they already have a Store that works on PC.I think that's why they hired that Apple guy recently.
There was a report (Elder Legend calm down) that there isn't the overlap between Playstation owners and PC users. If you can get enough sales to cover the port and build interest in players wanting to get a PS5 to play the sequel then great. I think the PC port of Days Gone has revived the reputation of the game after the hatchet job done in the initial release (highlighting bugs is fair game, but it was obvious that reviewers hadn't played anything near the full game, you know their fucking job, and slaughtered things out of context). I think if there is a Days Gone 2, it will be in no small part to the PC port.Because PlayStation is it own ecosytem.
Sony doesn't needs others to sell their games.
Let me ask something why Sony needs Steam if they already manage an even bigger Store to sell games?
It doesn't make any sense to give 30% to a 3rd-party when you have the same tool to sell games in house.
The problem is that there are already plenty of storefronts on PC and adding one requires a lot of pull, maintenance, it also adds a point of failure for your games (support will drop one day for sure).Because PlayStation is it own ecosytem.

Sony is hurting the PlayStation brand putting games on PC outside it own ecosystem.
Putting on Steam just hurts 30% of their revenue.
It is two different issues.
PS. PlayStation Store is bigger than Steam from what I remember unless something changed recently... so Steam is not the biggest digital platform in existence lol
I understand that and even being against I understand why Sony wants to release games on PC.There was a report (Elder Legend calm down) that there isn't the overlap between Playstation owners and PC users. That is how they are doing today... yes.I thought the whole idea for PC ports was a cheap(er) way of doing marketing? Sony launch Horizon 1 on PC and a short while later Horizon 2 drops on consoles. Same with GoW and I'm sure a few others.
What incentive is there for Sony to do that? They cost themselves the sale of a console. That is how they are doing today... yes.
But PC users believes Sony will eventually releases games on PC at day one.
I don't see incentive too but it is their main point of discussion. What incentive is there for Sony to do that? They cost themselves the sale of a console.
Hey @Exanthus @adamsapple look at these people saying fuck PC. They're so upset that their games go on PC now.
