Sony launched a competing service but they’re not directly copying gamepass. Sony’s business model isn’t destructive to sales like day one gamespass is. Extra is just the bargain bin; games that exhausted their retail run or lack thereof
Gamepass been slacking with notable day one releases since Starfield and before then since… what… Halo? Now they NEED to leverage ABK for all it’s worth.
Then again… I think we owe the gamepass disaster for Microsoft being forced into a position to go third party. This is the better result since now at least these studios have a chance to actually sell a game and actually survive.

PC port destroyed Xbox consoles yet Sony copied it anyway.
I'll never understand why they didn't buy a mobile developer with live service experience and pivot more there. Mobile is infinitely more profitable than PC. Sony even makes Phones it would of been great synergy.

PlayStation has one life left, Xbox was able to try again and again because of MS deep pockets and willingness to accumulate major losses.
These Sony accountants that are in charge will lose their minds at the first signs of lack of growth or struggle (they are already sort of acting like that despite PlayStation being more profitable than ever).
We saw a leaked document where they analized diferent cases and made different estimations and projections of the impact of including a game in PS+, analizing different cases and being the HFW experiment.
It was made just after including HFW there, but made a projection and thought it highly boosted the userbase of the game (good for selling the DLC they were releasing soon after that) but at the cost of obviously almost flatlining the tail/year 2 little sales.
In other examples where they included the games to PS+ later the effect on sales got highly reduced. So as we saw in the games released after it, they didn't include them on PS+ that quickly after launch, but instead waited more.
In our dimension they already did it. It's called Savage and they rebranded it to Neon Koi.
Sure, they break many (positive) records being more successful than ever in most areas, proving that this is true.
Yes, being a company they love to get money, and also want to expand to GaaS, multiplatform and MP. So they acquired Bungie, one of the most successful, sales record breaking teams in these areas, to almost double their manpower since acquisition until now, generate a lot of money from them in multiple platforms with GaaS/MP and also support/guide their other teams doing that.
Destiny 2 continues making a lot of money, the Marathon teaser was very succesful and also are GT7, MLB and Helldivers 2. So yes, so far was a great idea.

We could of had Elden Ring,Sekiro and Dark souls as exclusives.
Idk about you but that would of been huge for thr brand
how do you know those games would have been created under Sony? do you checked millions of alternative worlds where it existed?
Under Sony We had Bloodborne which is arguably one of the greatest games of all time, if anything having access to Sony Tech would have made dark souls,Sekiro and Elden Ring even better.
