SF is far from dead. They didn't even release their expansion yet nor their mod tools. SF will probably come but you got a long wait
Infinity, look man, if you want to like Xbox and prefer it as a platform that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is coming up with illogical cope to defend your preference. Starfield is dead. The reception from everyone other than critics has been miserable. Every video game video essay Youtuber has had their turn with the knife, nobody is playing it on Steam, nobody cares. The only reason Starfield gets mentioned is because it's exclusive, not because it's a good game anyone wants to play. Genuinely, Starfield didn't move the needle on launch, it's not going to move the needle with a port in several years and an expansion that adds more garbage to Starfield's garbage world and narrative. If you genuinely hold such high views about Starfield I do not know what to say, you either have absolutely rock bottom taste and/or think consumers have rockbottom taste, or you are so pro-Xbox you'll worship garbage as long as it's branded right.

Idk but it's exactly my point. Most of them dudes heard whispers but went on like they knew knew and didn't know shit. Tom obviously is most credible of all.
I think it's simple. Their brand is being Xbox insiders, and personally they're invested in Xbox. When rumours come, if they're not a party to the sources, they need to say something because it's their job, and they want to maintain the community. Hence you get people like Jez oscillating between being upset at a single port, to accepting Xbox hardware going away. Most of these people didn't have an actual source, some of the smarter people like Tom Warren are better versed in how the industry functions and likely took accurate guesses to what would happen, but that was grounded on evidence and interpretation - completely the opposite to the fanboy Xbox accounts who said whatever they wanted.
And to add I think this should be a death knell for people like Klobrille, Jez, TimDog, etc. These people have shown they know nothing, are irrelevant, and create more FUD than clarity.
