Welp, it's Friday. Concurrent on Steam is 209K last I checked. I don't think concurrent peak will even break 300K over the weekend on that platform, which is very surprising for me. Also the user score is 76%; that's "high D+" level right there. Not a great look for a AAA game on Steam in terms of user reception.
And I'm also curious how many of the 6 million are the same Steam & Xbox purchasers playing the game multiple times (I know that it's assumed the game sold ~ 1 million on Steam, not accounting for refunds of course) vs. Game Pass subscribers. Circana/NPD for September will be...very interesting.

Yes. Play Anywhere means that if the same player runs the game on Xbox and PC, it is counted as two players.
Saturday now. Steam concurrent peak is 269K. If any day is going to be the busiest for the game's player traffic, it's today. Given the nature of the game, many of the 269K are likely the same folks who were playing yesterday, and the day before, etc. So it's at least a stable figure on that front, although it doesn't say anything great about sales or revenue.
Game Pass traffic might be pretty good though. They might hit 1+ million concurrent over today and tomorrow between Steam & Game Pass, and those who purchased the game on console. FWIW tho, the Steam user score dropped again, it's now at 74% :/

Is not per account? I mean the Xbox account is the same on PC or Xbox.
If that is true these numbers are even worst than when I read the Twitter.
Yes, it's per account. You have to use the same account with Play Anywhere. But in the stats, "player" means account and platform combination.

Nah, Starfield devs should also be very proud of themselves. They've created and released a really good game that'll bring joy to millions of people.
Yes millions, it's simple probability. People participate in the act of gaming to have fun and already 6M+ people have tried out this great game. That really shouldn't be bothering you to the point of insulting random people on the internet. Have control over yourself
