Starfield was delayed partly because Xbox has "experienced shipping games too early"

The industry is certainly not consistent in it's views. A time they will say if I want a good story "i'll read a book", all I want is great gameplay. Yet, if there is one thing Sony has on lock is great gameplay, engaging gameplay. So Horizon, GOW, Tsushima, LOU, UC, Days Gone all had great gameplay. Even their shooters are above the pack and more engaging, speaking of RFOM 1 and 3 and the GOAT Killzone 2. Yet journalists will want to talk about Deacon or his wife in Days Gone and how the lady wants to give her husband some as some sort of negative or that Deacon has his cap back to front, the silliest of things or that LOU2 did'nt do the same cookie cutter plot for story, rinse repeat. You want to talk about story and great combat, talk LOU2, it had everything, it got people mad and that means it got you talking. What's so great about Wither's story? Are people still talking about it, the haters are still talking about Abby and Druckmann, that's for sure, so he did something right...... What can never be redeemed is Witcher 3's awful combat and to think the time when it got all the 10's combat was worse with a worse camera, the thing was a mess for years as they kept patching it. Any Sony game which launched like that would be raked under the coal....

To be fair most WJRPG have bad combat systems.
See the multi-awarded The Witcher III... it is mediocre in terms of combat but everybody get blind about that part and just talk about how good everything else is.

The Witcher III is the perfect example of unplayable to me even when I liked the story, presentation and core game design.
Skyrim the same... people are into Bestelda games for the story telling... not gameplay, presentation or bugs.

I wish we could have both... a Witcher game with good combat system.
I really like the Witcher 3 and it's not unplayable for me, however the combat is pretty terrible.

i had no problem with Witcher 3 combat at all on PC. not sure how it was on consoles. but maybe gonna play it on PS5.
yes, it isn't best thing from sliced bread, but still it was good. not impactful as could be, more like loose..

never forget.

Shameless rip off game mechanics
Okay first off one is an actual video game while the other one is more of a survival experience, and secondly No Man's Sky did not invent resource harvesting.

It's a shameless rip off if you have basically no reference to video games in general. They're both just a catch-all of mechanics in other games that have been around for a very long time.

A space game with mechs, shocking. A space game with planetary stations and gun battles, wow. A space game with space battles, amazing. Wow this astronaut has a jetpack, that's unheard of.

This is all just generic expectation of a space fairing game. Ridiculous.

So you're going to just ignore the mechanics that have been lifted directly from no man's sky? Like, how things actually work and are presented? You're ridiculous, straight from a ban and already lying through your teeth

I mean it the exactly same combat on PC... and it is worst on KB&M than on Controller.
It is floaty, clunky and off 99% of time.
It has bad animations, bad hit box, bad mechanics, etc.
You weirdly spin around and attack everything... the air, the walls, the chairs, etc and luckily sometime you hit an enemy... and of course your sword broke in the process.

Maybe they are just LTTP... I mean the game is in development way before NMS was announced.... it is probably near a decade now.

Yes, it's all a remarkable coincidence. Especially the mechs, amazing Hello Games managed to catch up to a decade of Starfield concepts in development within half that time.

General similarities in two games which try to depict space and planetary related activities don't mean anything was lifted from something else. All of these things you're whining about right now are very basic mechanics in a multitude of other games particularly space related ones.

They are two products which in some ways are trying to accomplish similar things and do similar things so of course there are going to be similarities. You're being ridiculous right now.

Yeah, I'm sure no man's sky Devs plagiarised literal bits of game mechanics from something they never saw. Yeah

Literally, every game is a rip off of other already previously released games. This shouldn't be shocking to anyone. There's a reason why I don't see innovation or anything revolutionary with AAA titles. it's because none of them are. I'm resource gathering in God of War Ragnarok which I have done for over a decade in many many games. BOTW has stuff in it that existed years earlier. Every game is literally a rip off of another game. Anyone who wants innovation, originality and a revolution in their games shouldn't be looking at AAA because it's not happening. Sure, you may get one or two cool aspects but that's about it. Since last generation, I see gaming as simply an evolution of what's already been done. Same shit as before but simply executed better.

As for Starfield, it will have elements and aspects of many other games just like every other game but it will do what elden Ring and BOTW before it did - give the player complete and total freedom to play the game how they want which is why it be a 95+ and win overall game of the year for 2023 because it's not about visuals or animations, it's simply about how "you" meaning each individual experiences the game.

the other its a videogame too, and in some ways more ambitious than starfield,on its skyrim with a space coat paint and using you fake space ship to land with a cutscene, the other is a real space simulator

Survival experience with over a quintillion planets procedurally generated Vs innovative game with 1000 planets

That is, ignoring all the lore and RPG elements No Man's Sky has

Very happy that this is Spencer's approach.
This is a clear case of learning from his many many many mistakes.

Also, I thought that these people were about making games available to all gamers. Where is the PS4\5 version? They cancelled it.

Yeah totally agree on the witcher combat. Im giving it one last chance with the next gen upgrade.

Consider how bots like to shout walking sim for how Playstation and others do their story telling, Im just gonna call every WRPG a talking sim for the their “Story” telling. But at least Playstation and tomb raider reboot gives good gameplay and combat. Literally Starfield will be ”talking” and shit combat just like Skyrim.

If they wanna play it like this, Im sure PS fans can also be ignorant and call all there games talking sims (WRPG) or 1st person Right shoulder button pressing sims like (Doom, Halo )
Plus they have a walking sim called Hellblade 2 coming lol.

I wish this too lol
