No, sorry they took the game away (it was supposed to be on playstation, no?)... And they keep talking about choice and making games available to all gamers.
This is not like they were subtle about their hypocrisy.
Other platform holders do not go around telling people they make games that they want to make available to more gamers on any platform they prefer, acting as if they did not care
Starfield was NEVER announced for PlayStation 5 so it supposedly going to be on PlayStation was nothing but a rumor and speculation. Even if you say Microsoft and Phil lied, so fucking what? Jim Ryan and Sony has lied numerous times too but no one seems to mind that, huh? Besides, if the roles were reversed and Sony acquired Bethesda, do you truly believe that Sony would release any game on Xbox? No, they fucking wouldn't and no company would nor should they. You want to play Starfield, you know what you have to do in order to play it. If not, that's up to you but for PlayStation fans to feel so entitled to games and IP's that Sony never owned and were never entitled to is beyond egotistical.
Sony had at least two opportunities to give all of their PlayStation fans those games by accepting Game Pass which if anything, would hurt Xbox more than PlayStation but Jim Ryan and Sony said no thanks so maybe, you should blame your favorite company and Jim Ryan who's lied numerous times. Not only that but saying something when you don't actually own the company yet doesn't mean shit.
Besides, did you or any other PlayStation fan to truly ever expect to get Bethesda games outside of the two contracted games? I mean come on. That's not how the gaming industry has been. People can talk all they want about Microsoft taking games away from PlayStation yet Sony took away countless games away from Sega, Nintendo and Microsoft and built their entire dominance around it starting with the original PlayStation. Both instances are exactly the same shit except one major difference - Microsoft acquired the publisher meaning they own them and can do what they want with them. Sony doesn't own third party games like Final Fantasy yet Xbox fans don't get shit.
Then, PlayStation fans will argue that no one buys the games so that's why they don't get it. Why would Xbox fans buy years old ports for full price? Did PlayStation fans buy ROTTR in 2016 after the one year timed exclusivity on Xbox? Nope. Which proves that timed exclusivity is designed to hurt the competition and to get more people into their eco-system. Both sides do the exact same shit. No one can bitch when one side decides after 20 years to nuclear as if Microsoft was never ever going to spend their money. After E3 2018, it was just a matter of time.
This is one of the several reasons why I want Microsoft to keep acquiring studios and/or publishers. Because everyone acts that when Sony does their fucked up shit, it's perfectly okay which they've done for 27 years and continue to do by the way but when Microsoft does it like with ROTTR, OMG, the world is ending. SMH. It's fucking ridiculous. Microsoft simply had enough and decided to go nuclear and stopped caring about what the fans of the other console think or believe because either way, Microsoft would never win in the eyes of most gaming media and PlayStation fans. Microsoft could literally give you every Bethesda game and every ABK game and PlayStation fans would still find shit to bitch about.
Microsoft DOES give consumers more options than Sony and Nintendo combined. But of course, it's within the XBOX eco-system. Why would they put Bethesda games on PlayStation when they're trying to build up the Xbox brand and of course, they'll spend money just like Sony has for 27+ years to dominate and stay that way. People thinking that Microsoft can compete with the juggernaut of the PlayStation brand by doing almost nothing is absurd. You could give them 20 more years and still isn't happening. So how does a brand try to increase it's market share and whatnot? By acquiring studios and publishers.
What if Google somehow ended up with Bethesda? Do you think that they wouldn't have made them exclusive to Stadia? Of course they would. Why wouldn't they? Why wouldn't anybody? People act as if Microsoft is supposed to care about PlayStation gamers. Fuck that. When has Sony ever given a shit about Xbox gamers? Like never.
This is all business and regardless of what our opinions are, these companies are going to do what they believe is best for their own brand which is why I own both consoles because I know how the industry works and while not the end all be all, exclusive games and content do matter and definitely help get more people into the respective eco-system and platform and there's nothing better than owning both so I can play every timed and full exclusive that I want with no restrictions or limitations. Why gamers on either side don't do the same is beyond me. And if it's brand loyalty for some odd reason, then in my mind, the games on the other platform simply aren't important and thus, why complain if they're not on your preferred platform of choice.
But it is what it is. Our opinions will never change on this subject.
