What's funny bout this is they said the exact same thing when Forza Horizon 5 didn't get nominated and look where we at today. The same clowns tuning in to the livestream to watch the nomination announcements. Boycott my ass. Lol.

As for this year's nominated games, Microsoft deserves no credit for this.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is an excellent remake of GOTY2005, the game that revolutionized TPS.
We could put FF16 or Hogwarts Legacy in its place. but when I see some of the average or even mediocre games released this year, RE4R more than deserves its place.

Sure, if you're talking Metacritic scores but remakes should get their own category. We get enough per year to warrant that.
It won best Playstation game at Joystick awards and now it's getting nominated at TGA. It's getting dumb. Enough.
It's the same story, characters, enemies, locations etc. Maybe in a slow year a remake could get nominated for GOTY but 2023, seriously?
Sony quietly swept the VR category. 4/5 are exclusive to PSVR2, I hope this momentum continues and I hope GT7 wins. GT7 on PSVR2 is my most played game this year by far.

I did not believe Alan Wake 2 could pull it and remove Hogwarts Legends from the list.
Outside that my prediction (after somebody pointed I missed Super Mario Wonder) turned out very accurate.
Baldur's Gate 3 is the winner imo.
It is these rare cases where the developer keep delaying the launch to add even more quality to the game instead to clean the house like most devs.

While I believe BG3 did more as game I can understand the choice of Zelda for GOTY too.
They are the two very best releases this year.
So either I will be happy.
I would expect TGA’s to be more casual so I could see them giving it to Zelda. But BG3 isn’t a sales slouch either so who knows.
