Great post, but one thing I'd like to focus on is the above. VR2 is looking leaps and bounds better from all indications. From early reports, the devs love the hardware, it's powerful it's easier to work with and set up and Sony is getting much more software support than PSVR1. Also people should realize that many of the optimizations inherent with such hardware would benefit the PS5 development process too, with better gains there, whether it's fps or improved techniques.PSVR could have died, but they invested even more into it, and with Facebook failing, I think PSVR2 is poised to be the preferred premium place to play VR.
He may be tone def on things like classic gaming. But now we have a dedicated team literally for preservation of Playstation legacy. The guy listens to feedback 100%.
One thing I'd like to see and I hope Jim goes all in. PS should be the main catalyst, but they should make the hardware compatible with PC, you need to grow the market rapidly. Lots of other VR pursuits have failed or are failing, yet Sony is the only one that's been pretty successful, especially with software. Open it to PC too, open a storefront there too and properly vet all vr software that goes through. I think they already have halflife VR in the bag and no doubt the Astro Bot guys are already making VR goty. They need to get Dreams VR going and include Playstation Home VR too. People want to berate Jim at every turn, but he is the only one with balls to make the hard decisions, even though it may be un-popular at the time.
I'll tell you this, many of the people berating Jim Ryan right now, will be fellating him by the end of this generation. The guy has balls of steel and he has a vision as to where he wants to take the brand. I'm just so tired of CEO's playing it safe and it all boils back to the same song and dance till they fail. Jim is holding the horns and he is not playing no fake "good guy".
