BG3 isnt as shoe in as many of you think. If youve played DoS2 than BG3 is just as iterative as zelda IMO

This is completely false. DOS1 is one of my favourite RPGS, 2 I didn't like and didn't end up finishing so was on the fence about BG3 but in the end I bought it and it is radically different. Sure, similar visual style and combat is still turn based, but it's the systems underneath that which differ and make BG3 so good.

Idk what to tell you man, This game feels like an adjusted divinity (which is fine). The gameplay loop is the same, the combat is a WAY easier version of DOS2, they just added cutscenes instead of art and text lol. To me personally it just feels like a divinity facelift. I guess I'll add DOS2 was the first CRPG I've ever played.

That would do it. Yeah, the gameplay loop is the same because it's an RPG. The combat is debatably way easier. I say debatably because the dual magic-physical defence in DOS2 was such a grind and made the game a chore, BG3 is easier because it doesn't have this but it isn't easy by any metric. How long did you play? It's a DnD game, the higher your level the stronger the monsters, intellect devourers in the crash site are easy because they're weak. Fighting undead dragons, not so much. Again the facelift comment is correct because visually the games are similar, but it's a completely different engine underneath.

what games did you play this year?

I didn't have time to play BG3, sadly. Only played the Early Access some time ago. And I forgot about Shadow Gambit! That's one of my candidates too, even though the genre is too niche. I only review PC games, naturally, since my website is dedicated to PC gaming only. I played a lot of games this year but being pretty much on my own is hard (too many games and too little time), so those are the ones impressed me the most. Jedi Survivor in terms of map design and backtracking, and Alan Wake 2 for its overall presentation and direction.

Also liked Returnal A LOT. AC6 was good but not impreesive, Dead Space and RE4 remake were very nice but can't think of them as new games (because they aren't). Lies of P and Blasphemous 2 were excellent, but wouldn't consider them GOTY material. I could reconsider Diablo IV in its current state, because it changed a lot with Season 2, but it was pretty rough at launch. I'm torn between MK1 and SF6 when it comes to fighting games, but I think SF6 is more fun (depiste its unconvincing initial roster) and looks incredible on an OLED TV.
