Only if you want deep confusion and dysfunction worldwide. Playstation closed its biggest Japanese teams years ago. The most important teams are by far are on the US west coast. Why would you center worldwide business decision-making on a 16 hour timezone difference from the vast majority of the production?
Are Polyphony Digital and Team Asobi suddenly going to be the center of gravity in Playstation Studios? I don't think so.

Where have you been the last 10 years? Japan Studio was closed in 2021, and its output had slowed to a trickle from like 2012 on. The Playstation CEO has been a white westerner since 2006. Who's coping?

-Continue to expand in developing markets
-Focus on single player, story driven games
-An FPS series or two that isnt only online matchmaking
-Continue to make experimental hardware like the PSVR2 and the Portal
-Expand exdev, particularly in Japan and publish RPGs.

But you somehow insist PS must have north american CEO headquarters in US and have to release day one PC releases along with creating Steam handheld OS and integrated ps plus-steam acount compatibility
In what universe PS have the obligation to provide such privelege to Steam gamers

Whoever replaces Jim has to know how to communicate better with the Ps community and no go a whole 2 years with barely any first party announcements. Also cut down on the number of gaas games, no pc ports for sp games and invest more in smaller/mid size games to fill in the gaps when there are no triple AAA releases. Also invest more in first party vr games.

It makes perfect sense to manage all these teams from Tokyo. The Playstation CEO really needs daily briefings on Gran Turismo 8 development.

You're basing your point on a temporary appointment, but I'm the one coping.

The curent CEO is Jim Ryan and in april 2024 will be replaced by Totoki ( could be temporary or they decide its gona be permanent who knows but fact is thats what gona happen)
To suggest something out of the box like
- must have a north american CEO
- must be located in North America
- must provide Steam handheld and ps plus- steam acount integration

It's awesome that we can play MGS5/Ground Zeroes/Revengeance in 8k, and it sucks that MGS4 is a grainy, low res, unstable experience on PS3.
He was involved with alot of choices that people will solely blame ryan on like Japan Studio or games on pc
Yeah, that’s true. People forget all of that. Also he was very conservative in acquisitions. Between 2011 to 2019 he only purchased 1 studio which was Insomniac.
