That's weird considering Steam just beat it's own ccu peak at 36 million users and at the end of January, Steam had the most players online in-game.

There's no sign of traditional PC gaming going the way out, but some of you seems to hope it does.
Yep, 36 million and yet it's the lowest grossing platform. Plurality Mandarin speakers, majority with hardware weaker than consoles. What use is having millions of people when they don't spend money on games? It's CCUseless.

Xbots learned the hard way and NuXbots are next.

Lowest grossing platform based upon what? From game sales alone they're grossing 9 billion a year. That undoubtedly puts them ahead of both Xbox and Nintendo for the same metric.

No idea what Sony's gross is for game sales.

Once again you say things but do no research. For starters analysts in the gaming industry don't use terms like "grossing", they use terms like revenue and profit. The equivalent to "grossing" is revenue since that's what it means for the film box office.

And that being the case, $9 billion for PC in B2P sales would be very small. Microsoft's B2P revenue annually on Xbox matches or even slightly exceeds that. Sony's absolutely does.

Total gaming sales revenue for PC in 2022 was ~ $29 billion. PlayStation revenue alone in FY 2022 was ~ $24.5 billion. Microsoft's was $15.56 billion and Nintendo's was $12.62 billion. So combined console revenue in games dwarfed that of PC game sales for 2022 alone. And yes the consoles include the hardware and peripherals; it's not our fault you can't easily decipher what percentage of GPUs and CPUs are purchased primarily for PC gaming, or what peripherals are purchased for gaming on PC as well.

Take that up with the PC market.

That isn't games, that is entire operating revenue for the division lol.. PC revenue for games doesn't include hardware lol.

You're flubbing this whole thing.

Hmm...

It pisses me off there's no native PS App on PC, for capture footage retreval and messages, or for console storage management / PStore browsing (quickly, the website is slow for me). Like there are times I'm on laptop away from phone's PS App.

They need to get PS+ back to where PSNOW was at, on PC/TV etc.

Some games incorporate pc mods/in-game user created content, such as Farming Sim, WWE2K. If these developers listened to their communties and created almost skunkworks content pipeline, or a future employment pipeline and incorporating today's PC mods into next release's game. That's really nothing to do with Sony though, I guess.

Its interesting how much more obnoxious the dipshit pcmr brigade has become ever since xbox waved the white flag.
The strange part is they're making demands from a position of weakness. PC gaming is incredibly weak when put against consoles - I don't think they understand they owe their platform of choice's life to consoles.

Since people keep ignoring it, it really needs to be repeated that in the world's 6th largest economy (the UK), the software revenue split is 5:1 in favour of consoles vs PC. Highest selling PC game in 2023? Hogwarts, 224K. On consoles? EA Sports FC, 2.33 MILLION. 10:1. (Console Hogwarts was 1.7m)

Even previously PC exclusive franchises like Diablo are thriving on consoles, to the point where the experiences wouldn't exist and devs wouldn't be able to survive without consoles. 218k sales on consoles for Diablo 4 vs 224k on PC. That's PC's second biggest seller btw. It would land firmly in 10th on the console list.

There's no place on the planet with a comparable economy that can sway that kind of ratio back in PC's favour. Either they don't know that, or they may just be PC Master Baiters.

plus, we are getting like every month PS data, PS5, PS4, PSVR. Between what US playing and EU, is not much different. maybe it is not defined calculated numbers, but it is pretty close what it represents.

Until you realize that Sony doesn't dump all that money into first party games just to sell the game itself, and that much of the incentive to greenlight the budgets for most of their first party games goes out the window when the only reason a game exists is to sell copies of that game.

In what world does devaluing the platform they make their money from through subscriptions, a cut from third party physical game sales, a cut from third party MTX, and an even bigger cut from digital sales, make "perfect sense"?

Nothing, I couldnt care less tbh. I'll play it on playstation eitherway.
However I dont think its smart for sony to release all their games on PC day one. GIve it a six months delay at least, FOMO will make so that people will always flock to PS.
MP games really do should come day and date tho, a vibrant comunity is what make these games work in the first place.
